On my quest for a good pimento cheese sandwich – serious craving here! did some looking online and noticed that this restaurant offers one on the menu. Went to the Central location in Hyde Park and was treated to a great pimento cheese sandwich. There were cucumbers tomatoes and onions, which to my extensive southern experience is a little strange for this sandwich, but surprisingly worked and made the sandwich a little lighter too. The menu noted that the sandwich had jalapenos too, though they were not apparent in the taste. The host was quick in getting me seated. The parking lot is a mess, by the way, so I went about 8 pm to wait for the main rush to lessen. Found a spot and once inside got seated immediately. The order of fries is too much for one person to eat, though they taste great. There is a dipping sauce served with them that is not bad, but is very rich – it seems to have a mayonnaise base of some sort. Waiter was very polite and several different staff checked on

All I can say is that it was the best meal I have ever had in this city, hands down. I have lived in Miami, NYC, and London, and France… I have eaten every where worth wild and I can’t remember a meal quite so good. The inventions this Chef “Lawrence Kocurek ” has brought to town are defiantly a reflection of his NYC culinary background. We started the meal with a Sushi dish that was Hamachi two ways, both in tartare form and the grilled Collar, my favorite… it was to die for, subtle in the tartare and assertive flavors in the collar. Next we had the Hearts of Palm Salad with Truffle dressing, get this Chef Kocurek made the prosciutto that is in the salad in house, the waiter said it has taking a year to mature…who does that outside of NYC and other great cities. The salad was fantastic. Then for entree my wife and I had the “Opakapaka” Hawaiian Snapper and I had the Loin of Lamb…blown away the Lamb was cooked to perfection and looked like a steak the way it was prepar

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin; it also appears regularly on the Austin Chronicle’s best-of poll. The restaurant is in an old house with a patio and a garden out back; not only can you peruse the garden, but many of it’s contents regularly appear on the menu. The atmosphere is Austin casual, and the menu is veggie-heavy, but not vegetarian. Some of my favorite dishes include the goat-cheese and shrimp quesadillas, the mushroom crepes, the stuffed pasta shells, and the veggie plate, which includes your choice of three of the veggies of the day, salad or soup. The “house” feta cheese salad dressing is so good, they bottled it, literally – you can buy it at Central Market. The jalepeno corn muffins are just a little spicy, and usually served warm to melt the butter evenly. The food is fresh and delicious, with some nice variations on standards as well as new dishes. East Side prides itself on buying locally (what they don’t get out of the back!), and the freshnes

I went on a recent weekend for the first time. We were part of a large group, and I was happy to see that our table was waiting for us per our reservation. We started with drinks from the happy hour menu, and everyone was happy! My date and I shared the Tuna appetizer and the Spring Roll appetizer. For dinner, she had the Flounder and I had the Flank Steak; both were perfect. We also enjoyed several bottles of wine with our friends. The waiter did a good job with a large group: he was always there when I wanted something, at least. It was a little on the loud side, but what can you expect with these crowded places? It was a very good first trip: I’ll be back

Just about everything about this place is nice. It’s clean, the staff are great, and the food is awesome.
