Where is the Best Dance Club in Austin, Texas?
The Broken Spoke is fun! It’s full of good ol’ fashion folk, they have great music Thursday-Saturday and there’s always someone to dance with. The dancing lessons are a waste of money, I’d recommed finding a regular to show ya how it’s done instead. I love this place, I’d give it five stars except they have the worst bartenders. Don’t complain about the food either, they get defensive. (I’d recommend skipping the food though.) Pros + Dancin’, music, parkingCons – bartenders, food
The first few times I went here, I thought it was kind of a fun place to dance. My friend thinks their service is the worst out of all the downtown bars, but I haven’t really noticed that myself. The last time I went there, someone had regurgitated AGAINST the front window and it was just sitting there, dripping down the window. NASTY! There is a reason why this place gets crowded and the that reason would be the Spazmatics on Wednesday night! Other than the Spazmatics, the best bartender in Austin works here and his name would be Sanchez! Find him and you will never opt for another bartender ever. Just tell him what flavors you like and he’ll craft the perfect martini for you. Some of my favorite drinks (the ‘Marilyn Monroe’ and ‘Berry Shizzle’) were made up by him and can’t not walk down 4th street without stopping by to get one before the night is over!The atmosphere is chill on nights other than Wednesday. If you’re ever on 4th, don’t pass up this bar! Pros + Custom tailored martinis to your taste, chill on nights other than WednesdaysCons – Cougar night on Wednesday! I have been here many times because I have friends that work there. Overall it is not too bad. The drinks are decently priced and made. The layout of club is nice especially if you and some friends hang out in the lil upper VIP area or on the couches. Lil dance floor as well. The absolute worst part of this bar is the DJ. I have been nearly a dozen times and I swear I hear Michael Jackson, Criss Cross, Naughty by Nature, and all those other ppl I was ready to stop hearing from the 90s!! It drives me nuts and I predict it like clock work every time. Anywho, I have been told by staff that on Thursdays (which I have never been), they play much better music making the crowd much better as well.
