Where is the Best Cuban Food in New York, New York?
This place is a little pricey, but not over the top, the portions are small but worth every penny!!! When I go out, I would rather have a few spectacular bites of food than a plate of something mediocre…. Plus the wine selection is excellent! The staff is polished and knowledgeable, and despite being on Third and usually occupied by the “beautiful, it’s unpretentious. It’s a cozy place, perfect for an intimate date
Went here over the weekend with my wife, her sister, and brother-in-law. My brother-in-law is Cuban and he was quite impressed by the menu selection. We try Cuban restaurants regularly and this is the first one that had a watercress salad that reminded him of the one his mother use to make. He was overjoyed about that. My wife had the Red Snapper with Plantain Crust which was served on a bed of mashed sweet plantain. I had the Bistec de Palomilla with Onions and a side of their delicious rice and black bean soup. Overall the meal was superb. The portions were just right and the presentation was enticing. We quenched our thirst and began the festivities with a pitcher of Sangria that served it’s purpose and gave us the buzz we needed to finish our meals. Our server was quite knowledgeable of the menu and the service was prompt. The atmosphere was cozy and warm and allowed us to unwind for the evening. The only complaint I had is that the Flan de Moka was mushier than I would
I had recently moved to NY from Miami and was looking for a great place to throw my husbands BIG 40thbirthday.I was a little hesitant at first because my party was 20 plus from all over and my husbands parents and his 2 uncles from Cuba that hadn’t seen eachother in 30 years so you can imagine how nervous i was. I was so impressed on how all of the old folks were dancing and singing to the cuban music and enjoyed the paella the steaks and the red snapper. That when I saw them all together my husband was the one that got emotional. All I can say is thank you Cuba for making my husbands Birthday/reunion with his family sooo special and thank you also to the musicians and the waiter that kept us all laughing with the stories and music ….gracias!Pros + Great Food and ambieanceCons – Bathrooms too small
This past October we had my mom’s 60th birthday at Agua Dulce. It was the perfect place to have a (surprise) party and I would HIGHLY recommend it.First of all, I have to commend the whole team on their client-oriented approach. Everyone was invested in making the party a success and went out of their way to help me plan the event (e.g. Ulrich the Chef preparing menu samples, Fernando the Owner / Manager advising on table layout, and Frank the Manager providing overall info and advice). I also really appreciated how special requests (e.g. keeping speakers off in our section, adding ice-cream to one of the desserts) were accommodated; there is even a special request section on the sign-up form.Second the space is gorgeous. Clearly a lot of attention and detail were put into the build out. The back raised section is a perfect place for a group party. You get a private-like feel while enjoying the d?cor and lighting of the main restaurant, aspects which you often have to compromi
