Great service and wonderful sandwich in a ‘hole the wall’ grocery. Add a side of chips and a coke for a delicious meal. Order upon entrance if you’re getting something other than the popular Original. Attend GA Tech around the corner and have been going here for years as well as introducing friends around ATL to the spot. Consistently great.

Las Palmeras is located in a midtown neighborhood…very cool spot. The rotisserie chicken was cooked well, but it was a little bit greasy. They claimed it was the special of the night, but i’ve had much better for less. For Cuban-style chicken, it needed more flavor. The yuca was cooked just right, but the mojo was weak. The maduros were thick (I prefer them thinner) but sweet. The black beans and rice were quite good. We also had moros, and they were almost as good as the black beans. This restaurant is sometimes described as a hole in the wall. I don’t think that’s a fair description. The place is definitely not fancy, but it’s cozy, and I find the location desirable. The food at Las Palmeras passes as authentic, but you won’t get the real good stuff in Atlanta. Go south, skip Tampa, and find a place in Miami.

My Fiance and I ate here Saturday night. Both Beef and Chicken Empanadas were good–but beef was better! The dipping sauce was better than any I’ve personally had at other caribbean restaurants and my date agreed. the Mojitos were excellent–but go for the original lime, I was not pleased with the flavored version. If you’re not sure what to order, try the Mojito Combination plate–I always have a hard time deciding between dishes and this way you get Mojo steak, Cuban pork AND chicken, and pleanty of it, for less than $20. Great value. Pleanty of parking was available, and they had a guy playing the steel drums which was kinda cool… We’re gonna go back for the Salsa dancing I hear they have some weekends, as it looks like they would have a nice sized dance floor with the tables moved.Pros + Good food at a great priceCons – had to tackle 400 to get there!

Went to Coco Loco about two weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. We had a terrible experience at Papi’s Cuban Sandwiches and were wary of trying Cuban from Atlanta again. I grew up in Miami and just recently moved here, so I know what good Cuban food should taste like. The food was very flavorful and reasonably priced. I ordered the palomilla steak with white rice, black beans, and maduros (sweet plantains). The steak and rice were seasoned very well. My fiance ordered picadillo (seasoned ground beef) with moros (“dark” rice) and yuca frita (fried yuca). His food was also very tasty. We ordered cafe con leche (coffe with milk), flan (a custard similar to creme brulee), and guava with cream cheese for dessert.–all very good. My steak was about $11 and my fiance’s dish (which was the daily special) was maybe $8-$9. The service was a bit slow, but friendly. The host (an elderly Cuban gentleman) actually told me where I could purchase pastelitos (a cuban pastry with guava or

Well honestly the food wasnt very good, but great atmosphere and at $28 for 2 including a number of fine margaritas, good value. The perfect spot for a weeknight when you can just chill up on the balcony. The cheese dip came out of a can, but the chorizo quesadilla was great/Pros + value, atmosphere, margaritasCons – processed food, parking
