My husband and I enjoy trying a variety of favorites at Chinook Tavern although weekend visits are especially wonderful with great food and live romantic guitar music. However, I am writing this review because on our most recent visit, we treated ourselves to a special Italian Winemakers Dinner that we found to be spectacular. My favorites on the Five Course menu were the Sushi-Grade Tuna Tartare appetizer, the Chateau Beef Sirloin for my entree. I especially liked this dish, it was topped Summer Truffle Butter giving it a delicate touch. And the very unique fresh berries that were served with a scotch vanilla sauce with fresh cracked pepper. I feel the dishes were a wonderful compliment to the wines that were served. Kudos to the waiter for doing such a professional and timely job with this large group. Lastly and most importanly 5 courses and 5 wines for $75…..what a bargain!!!! Can’t wait till the next one We love this place.Pros + Beautiful art and decor ~ off-street

The maitre d ‘ was exceptionally gracious and hospitable. For appetizers: Pelmeni and garlic vodka. Delicious. Then more vodka – red pepper (spicy!), dill, and horseradish (oof!). Our entrees (beef and fish) were perfectly cooked, with the only negative being very stringy leeks with the fish. The sauces were full of flavor but not overly salty, as some other reviewers have found. For dessert, the banana crepe was very tasty. Not the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had, but not awful. The service was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Definitely place I’ll come back to.Pros + Vodka (of course), and surprisingly elegant foodCons – ?

Solera Was excellent .I thoroughly enjoyed my service, and the food. The Scallops where cooked to perfection, the risoto was just right, and who can complain about truffle mac? Our server, Magon, was friendly and knowledgeable. He anticipated our needs and did not rush us through our dinning expirience. I was, however, slightly disapointed by the wine menu. I was expecting more of a small artisan selection. Now this is not to say that the selection they have is not good, it was just not what I was expecing. My only other complaint was the tables seemed to be a littled close to each other and the door. We where nearly sitting in the kitchen, but all this is minor in comparison to the quality of our experience.Pros + Food and serviceCons – Slightly crowded

This place looks and seems like your run-of-the-mill Denver martini lounge… but a great surprise awaits inside! I have been there numerous times, and was always delighted to see a really diverse crowd just having a good ole’ time… Music selection is also of a wide range – rock, Latin, house, techno – but always right on and fun to dance to. Staff is very friendly and drinks are strong… I definitely recommend this place for its unpredictability (always fun) and as a nice break from the martini lounge circuit (which I admit I also enjoy).Pros + fun atmosphere, quirky, relaxed
