The Hyatt Hill Country is a beautiful resort, about 30 minutes from the San Antonio airport. The grounds include several swimming pools (all outdoor), a floating river, golf course(s), tennis courts, a walking trail, workout facilities, kid’s arcade and of course a Hyatt Spa. Nearby, the Hyatt time-share location (about a mile away), has an indoor-outdoor pool with slides, so…

I attended a conference at the Hilton Palacio del Rio, a block away from this lovely & charming hotel. The pictures online do the place justice–soaring ceilings, wood floors, very comfortable bedding and delicious continental breakfast. The level of attention from staff was just right–for a small facility, they are very accommodating of unusual schedules yet not intrusive. The hotel…

My wife was keen to stay at the historic Menger Hotel, so we did. What a lovely place and great location, next door to both the Alamo and Rivercenter Mall and Riverwalk. A mixture of old world charm and modern features. Wonderful paintings and other historical exhibits. Lovely courtyard garden. Elegant dining room. Our room overlooked the Alamo Plaza. But the room is where it goes a bit mediocre. The room was small and a bit cramped. The bathroom fixtures were outdated and inelegant. The ceilings showed age signs. The bed was firm and comfortable (if you like a firm mattress). On the more modern side, the workout room, outdoor pool and spa were very nice. The high-speed internet connection in the room was free and fast.If you are going for the history, you may love this hotel. I business travel a lot (4-5 days at a time) and mostly by myself. Because of the small corridors and rooms and crampted and antiquated bathrooms, I would not stay here. I prefer the Rivercenter Marriott wh

Before arriving in SAT, I was a bit concern on reading really mixed reviews on the Emily. I have to say our experience have been completely positive. We had a lovely stay on the 14th (top) floor, in a spacious, high ceilinged and well appointed room. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Attentive and polite. Location is great ……

This one is a gem if you want to stay away from the big box cookie cutter rooms. I liked the location (across from the Court House) on the quiet end of the river. Loved my morning walks along the river towards the missions. The hotel is small and unpretentious but you get the authentic Texas experience…..murals painted by local artists. Legend has it that Santa Anna’s army camped on this site before the Battle for the Alamo. The recently refurbished rooms are five star as is the service. The pool area is a sanctuary. I love visiting san Antonio and staying at this hotel. I always come home recharged!Pros + Best value for moneyCons – Restaurant not open yet
