Where is the Best Comfort Food in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?
First start your sandwich off with almost any thing you can think of. The list goes from Fried Eggs to Cheesesteak. Then you get a heaping generous porportion of Slaw and Fries added on top. Do not order the fries and slaw on the side either. Its not primanti’s if the slaw and fries isn’t on the sandwich. Its a must eat every time I go back into town. Not only can you get in, have your food, and have it eaten in about 20-30 mins. Your total cost with a drink is about $6.50 on avg. On a personal note get the spicey chicken and add a few dabs of hot sauce from the table to it and a ice cold yeungling and you are good to go. Pros + you seat yourself and don’t wait long for your food. Cons – It gets a lil rowdy on the south side on a sat night.
I only get to the Burgh about once a year since moving to Miami, and I have to tell you that this is one of the first stops we make. You have to make at least one trip to Vincent’s while visiting. The pizza crust is thick and chewy, the sauce is excellent, and the toppings. . . .oh, the toppings! To watch them make this pizza is a wonder. Unlike some pizzas, this is still great microwaved later, but you must get it fresh to experience pure pleasure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. . . Vincents is a dive and doesn’t look like much from inside – or out. But what they lack in atmosphere, th
My boyfriend and I went to Tessaro’s on a Monday afternoon based on the great reviews about their burgers and salads. No joke, this place has absolutely the best hamburger. It is a half pound of perfectly cooked, juicy, meaty perfection. The only thing that matched to delicious burger was the service and atmosphere. Tessaro’s is a classic corner bar where the food and people are honest and inviting. We had a great time chatting it up with Suzy and the owner Kelley. Their hospitality was second to none. For luch, we started with a salad and chili. The salad had an amazing, chucky, homemade blue cheese dressing that was super yummy, and the salad was a fresh. The chili had more of a sweet tang to it, which was fine… but I would never choose it over the burger. The burger was served on a roll that actually had flavor and texture…not a piece of tasteless cardboard. The cheese was minimal, but that’s ok, it would be criminal to cover up the taste of the burger. Did I say the
