Even though there is no longer an impenetrable cloud of smoke to hide all of the various ‘mystery odors’, this bar still kicks some major ass. From board games, Karaoke, Ping-Pong, Pool, and THE BEST JUKEBOX EVER, this bar is absolutely a rockin place to just hang out and chat it up with your friends. The atmosphere is open and friendly, the drinks are stiff, the food- well- it’s bar food, but the staff is some of the friendliest and most personable (they will make a point to learn your name on your first visit … that can’t be said for 99.9999999999% of the other bartenders in Seattle) I have seen in the city, at least if you aren’t a complete douche bag to them *cough*MR.ROOSEVELT*cough*. After four plus years of going to the Monkey Pub, they are still, hands down, my favorite dive.

Lebanese vegan food can be incredibly good – “Flowers” is a restaurant that I look forward to visiting. . I spotted this article posted on the site of “The Daily” – http://thedaily.washington.edu/2008/5/15/flower-all-you-can-eat-vegetarian-buffet/ & decided to share it – . Excerpt – . Flowers All-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet . A college student’s diet, although abundant in pizza and teriyaki, doesn’t generally include many vegetables. Luckily this problem can be easily remedied at Flowers Bar & Restaurant, where they offer an all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. . Flowers has been at its location at the corner of Northeast 42nd Street and University Way Northeast or 17 years now ,and the employees have watched Seattle’s vegetarian community expand greatly during this time. . Owner Fadi Hamade estimates that more than half of his customers are vegetarian or vegan; he cited the prevalence of vegetarians in the area as a major benefit

I didn’t really know what to expect when we went to the Wedgwood Broiler. I thought it might be like The 13 coins restaurant, which is cool in a kitschy kind of way. However, it turns out that the Wedgwood Broiler is NOT a place for a big crowd of 20-somethings looking for a retro night. This place is for families with kids and for older folks looking to a ‘nice’ meal out.You walk in the “In” door and this place takes you back to a different time. Dark wood walls, tall booths with coffee cups already on the table and food being kept warm under orange, glowing lights. The waitresses, who have all been there for 20+ years, look like your 3rd grade best friend’s mom and they are warm and welcoming. The food is rather bland, but I have to say, I grinned when our house salads came out — served with baco-bits and cheez-its. We ordered a quesadilla & mini corn dogs for the kids and we each had a French Dip. Very plain, just the way the grandparents would have liked it.No, the food

Nice and simple bar. You order yourself and bring your own drinks and food to the table, like in bars in Europe. If you’re eating, i would recommend the pizza which is excellent. We also tried the chilli but it was avarage at best and came with some strange garlic bread. Better to just focus on the pizza…The beers are good too and the atmosphere is nice.Pros + Great pizza, good beer.Cons – other foods are so-so
