Where is the Best College Bar in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
definitely a swank place that is sectioned off in to basically different living rooms. a good area of the bar is no-smoking. great for studying or chatting before the evening crowd rolls in, and excellent during the evening. the people are friendly and always good for conversation.Pros + not overly crowded, excellent staff, excellent peopleCons – little parking
So as a former employee of Star Gate and several other night clubs. i will warn you to avoid this bar on Club Cystal night. its dangerous. However i do disagree with the other posts on this site that denounce it to the point of saying you’re risking your life. metal detectors are only used on crystal nights due to the seedy crowd and wanna be thugs that show up. i worked there for two years before i finally quit to go back to school. i would rate the bouncers as nothing but courteous and those that arnt are promptly fired by the wonderful Mr. Mike or Amanda. All in all Wed. is my favorite night to go myself and friday nights are fun and enjoyable for those underage. i’ve never had a bad time and the drink prices are great, the waitresses are extremely good looking and coureous, the bouncers are professional and will walk you to your car even if they have other more enjoyable things to do. Star Gate is by far one of the safer clubs in the city. at least its not like the venue where ever
The fish fry here is the best I have ever had. The fish melts in your mouth and the waffle fries with chicken tortellin salad are very yummy. It is a lot of food, so plan on taking some home unless you have a very large appetite. Unfortunately the fish fry is about the only thing on the menu that is worth ordering. The service is very slow and b/c it is next to the U of M, there are lots of jocks there (pretty obvious to expect it).Pros + lots of food, yummy fish fry, inexpensiveCons – service is slow, rest of food okay
Living in New Jersey, I don’t get there often enough, but when I do, Bullwinkles is the first stop. The staff is friendly, the beer is cold (& cheap), & the food is outstanding! They have a prime rib/grilled cheese sandwich that is out of this world!! My associates get out there every couple of years, and the staff welcomes them by name as they enter. Ya gotta love a place like that. Bullwinkles is the BEST.Pros + atmosphere, value, friendly serviceCons – too far from Jersey
