Where is the Best Coffee in San Francisco, California?
I’ve been to many Peet’s over the years. The Peet’s on Polk Street in San Francisco is the best of the bunch and seems to be getting better and better over the last year or so. Is it new management? The staff who work there are super nice and work their butts off through good customers and bad alike. Of course the coffee is always the best (like most peet’s) and the pastry’s are just too tempting to be had however I give in from time to time. Cheers to the Polk Peetniks!Pros + Good Service, Good Coffee
I have been going to Faley’s for about 10 years and it has failed to disappoint me. Simple good coffee or lattes. No ‘candybar in a cup’ offerings to be had….Thank you! The staff is always friendly cheerful and few , well two in particular, will put on a floor show.Well , it is always good fun around there. Always some type of on-going art show on the walls, music every once in awhile and the various customer participation shows during some of the holidays.
Seems like anything that turns into a chain begins to look like a chain. An especially interesting touch was the cook who dragged garbage cans through the room (OK, he would have had to go around the block to get them out back and he did say “excuse me” as he bumped me with a can) and then proceeded to whip up my breakfast pizza, which was decidedly underwhelming. Perhaps I should have stayed with the pastry, which at least looked good.
This place had a good vibe the minute I entered. In this rather political city, the patrons and the staff were talking about the frequent weekday visits by the mayor for his caffeine fix. The staff were young, spirited and up-beat. My double cappucino, served in an oversized mug, and almond croissant (why didn’t I get the pastry in the case?@#!…next time) were quickly served and tasty. The cappucino was rich and flavorful. Next time, skip the croissant (it was not a unique Caffe Roma treat) and order an eye-pleasing pastry from the glass case.Pros + Pefect cappucino and upbeat staffCons – The camera crew in the back, wrapping up a Q&A session with city staff
