A great classic cup of coffee costs next to nothing here, which is great if you want to drink and run. Plan on staying a while? Not with your laptop, you’re not. In the gigantic warehouse setting, complete with exposed rafters and a Goliath coffee roaster near the back, you’d think they would have something besides coffee, but you’d be wrong. Walk up to the cold, modern counter, order, pay and get pushed out in less than 30 seconds. Small individual-sized tables jet out from the walls accompanied by stainless steel chairs. Blue Bottle has their espresso, Ritual Roasters has their cult-following of hipsters, and Four Barrel tries to do it all. Unfortunately, they only really succeed at the great coffee part, and I guess the Dynamo Donuts really do help their business (if you haven’t tried them before, I suggest the maple bacon).Pros + Perfect cup-o-joe and Dynamo Donuts!Cons – No WiFi, no plugs, pretty much nothing besides coffee

it was a nic eplace to study, but there are a LOT of people there, so it might take you some time to find a seat. also, on the weekends there’s no outlets so i avoid it then.

I was shorted a tart by this La Boulange location. My Thanksgiving feast was a little short of dessert because of it. Thanks a lot! I won’t be back!Pros + Example: best croissants in townCons – I was shorted a tart.

I admit, I was one of those pretentious kind that always hung at the local Starbucks, but no more! The Coffe Bean location at Filmore and Sacramento is very busy because of both streets having a local bus stop. Its very interesting just drinking some coffee and watching all the young and old trendy people walking in and walking by families with their dogs…Pros + Friendly Service, Delicious Drinks, Good AtmosphereCons – Drinks Expensive, Parking difficult

After the long wait Cafe Abir re-opened last month all re-modeled, re-vamped … and including a kitchen! They serve only a limited menu for lunch and dinner, but everything I have tried so far has been outstanding:Lyonnaise Salad (frisee with poached egg and panchetta) … Goat Cheese w/ Roasted Beets on Salad … Rotisserie Chicken with Grilled Vegetables … Duck Rillettes on Salad … all of this and more is not what you expect to see on the menu of a coffee shop – this is cafe fare with a nice French/Eruo twist!Great addition to the neighborhood! They also serve some nice wines by the glass – and turn the coffee shop into a nice ambient low-lit place at night…Pros + Great service, outstanding cafe menu – and still some of the best coffee in town.Cons – No credit cards … laptop brigade invasion
