Where is the Best Coffee in Providence, Rhode Island?
. . . inside is warm and wonderful! This is a scrubbed clean restaurant with old, worn linoleum floors, mismatched china, playful decor and fantastic food (not unlike grandma’s kitchen!) I’m not normally a fan of diners, but this place is haute cuisine meets a Hooverville. Keep an eye on the daily specials board because unusual and worthwhile fare shows up there. If you can catch it in season, a Parisienne Omlette for brunch can both fill your belly and make your whole day look a little bit brighter!Pros + Exceptional fare, Casual, Good valueCons – , Seedy outside look
If I lived in Providence I would definitely go here quite frequently! This place had a sweet local vibe and came highly recommended by the people of Providence. Think about making an effort to support this place before going to one of the many Starbucks around town. I loved the vegan hot chocolate and could probably drink some everyday. Also, the bagels are locally baked so the employees know which ones are and are not vegan. I liked that tofutti cream cheese, but would definitely try the hummus on my bagel next time.
The menu is fantastic! There are all the right kind of simple and tasty combinations you could ask for in a selection of egg/omelet dishes. You’ll have a hard time choosing what you want because you will want to eat all of it. I recommended Sunday brunch, but that’s a busy time. If they say your wait time is over 40min I would move on. If 40min or less I would say it’s worth the wait!Pros + Food and atmosphere. The convenience of breakfast food at all hours of the day. Portions are good.Cons – The wait in line on Sundays and sometimes the service is slow.
