Where is the Best Clam Chowder in Seattle, Washington?

It’s been in business over 50 years and is still going strong. There are different rooms with different (relative) ambiance and options. They call themselves “almost classy” which is a stretch, but it is a kick and the food is perfect for what it is.You can order on floor one and either eat there, or on the third floor which is a nicer spot. They bring the food up to you and it doesn’t take long at all.The second floor has table service and a great bar along with the view. I was quite impressed with Manny’s ale which was new to me.I’m a major clam chowder fan. It is very good at Lowell’s compared to virtually all others around the country. But great chowder is the norm for Seattle. The burgers here are also great. The blackened salmon tacos in a corn tortilla work well for those who like a Mexican flair.Breakfast is actually supposed to be their best meal. I hope to try that next time around.

This place is all about the chowder (I had the ‘award winning’ New England style), although I’ve heard they have good Dungeness crab sandwiches too. If you’re looking for lunch around Pike’s Market this is a great spot. It is true that it is a little expensive, but so is pretty much everything else in the area. It can get a little bit crowded on nice days when there are a lot of people at the market. It is also nice that they have free bread and crackers to go with the soup.Pros + The chowder is worth itCons – Small location, not cheap

I was at Cellar 46 last week with a group of friends and we had a great time. The staff was great and they really took the time. We had some wine flights from the Happy hour menu and they took the time to talk us through each wine. The food was awesome and preiced really well. I had the braised beef which is one of their high end entrees and it was done to perfection. I think they seem to have really made some improvements over the last few months. I would say Cellar 46 is not to be missed if you are looking for a relaxed night out.. I live on the Island so I am so pleased to see that they seem to bew doing great and have brought such a cool atmosphere to Seattle wine bars. Jim…Pros + Nothing over $20 on menu

My fiance and I recently moved to Seattle and with our pocketbooks being a little tight, we have been trying all of the happy hours around town. Queen City Grill has the best one in Belltown for sure and possibly anywhere. We have been in twice now and have tried the shrimp, bruschetta (spelling?) , and the AMAZING kobe beef sliders. The only thing better than the quality and of the food was the price. For just $5 each these are the best quality happy hour items that i have seen. To make it even better, we saw their info on the table about facebook and twitter and saw that they offered the kobe sliders for free just for telling them we saw it. What a deal! We still have not been in for dinner and are waiting until we get a little more settled into Seattle to splurge. We will however go back again for happy hour especially since they have the best bartenders and staff that we have seen so far in town. I am not sure exactly what is in it but the Flatliner drink is out of this w

Tried only 2 items since it was for a snack. We ordered half-dozen raw oysters and a bowl of the puget sound salmon soup. The oysters were tasty but the last one my friend ate had an unusual taste. The bowel of soup was delicious. Several salmon chucks with some mussels mixed in as well. It was broth based and had a piece of fried bread in the middle of soup bowel soaking up the soup but still having a crunchy texture. There was also this mound of garlicky cream on top of the bread that you mixed in with the soup. I think that is what it was because the soup was very garlicky and tasty. Several other fried items fish & chips on the menu but didnt try yet. Overall I would consider going back to try some of the other soups on the menu.
