Where is the Best Clam Chowder in Boston, Massachusetts?
Woman on business. They seated at a lovely window table, offered reading material (which I didn’t need because I was people watching), provided excellent and friendly service for a delightful solo dining experience. Like so many great spots in Boston and vicinity, this joint is hard to find. You can’t see it as you drive by, you have to be on foot. (It’s rather opposite the Puppet Showplace Theater, if that is any help.) Once you find it, mark it well in your memory for the chow is indeed tasty. It is an art gallery and the soup is the work. It has been packed every time I have been there, but on a nice day you can have a seat on a nearby wall and sip and slurp away!Pros + Great soup, Nice Neighborhood, T accessibleCons – Tiny and crowded, SLOW (call in order!), Hard to find
The food here is as predictable as any. However, the thing that makes the Sail Loft different, is that this predictable food is very good. Nothing fancy, nothing flashy. It’s good food prepared well. The service was very good, the view was everything you would want for a restaurant by the water, and the crowd was fun but loud. One hint – the Nachos are unreal. They were topped with so much chili, cheese, sour cream, salsa and guac that when we had eaten every chip, we were left with a bowl of toppings left. If you like Nachos with LOTS of everything, this is the place for you.Pros + Nice View, Tasty food, Good ServiceCons – Loud, Dive-ish, Predictable
