Where is the Best Chinese Food in Portland, Oregon?
This is my first-time message in Citysearch.I went to Sungari Restaurant last month, they have some signature cocktails which is quite special, I especially like the Jasmine & Pomegranate Zen (Served in Hot), I don’t think you can find in other restaurant. I like the Cold Noodles, it is great for summer! The price may higher than the regular Chinese restaurant, but if you invite friends or for business meeting, I think is a nice price to go.~I just stopped by their restaurant yesterday and find out they are now change their name to Original Sungari, here is their new website too~~originalsungari dot comYou can get more idea of their menu and prices 🙂 ~~
Tried their dim sum for the very first time (July 2009). Although their selection wasn’t the greatest, but the quality was excellent. Every item we tried was excellent. The service was good, unlike some other dim sum places in China town. The location is a bit out of the way from downtown, but definitely worth the trip for very good…
Finally went here after seeing DDD on foodnetwork. I got here early on purpose so i wouldn’t have to wait. I drove past and know one was there, as I looked for a parking spot. about 3 min later i came to the front and about 4 groups of people appeared! So we waited a little bit, but not bad. I went with my 2 year old. Why not? I don’t like when people think you cant go to a “hip” Place with a child. why should my life stop? Well that is the attitude i felt from my server. The wings were really good, and i think every table around me ordered them! I hate the spicy chili boar , oh my gosh! I thought i could handle hot and spicy but i was wrong. this made my mouth burn and the ice bok choy didn’t help me much. It was very good flavors, but i think i will try something more calm next time! All the other staff were nice and i enjoyed it. It is very expensive, but it’s all made fresh. Pros + foodCons – wait, micheal
seriously, where else are you going to go from 9pm-12am for chinese or vietnamese food in portland? it’s the only place open, so you might as well try it. as long as you avoid the pork or beef, and stick with the chicken, seafood, tofu or vegetable dishes, you’ll be pleased. deal with the lady-server-dominatrix by asserting yourself. don’t whine about it because you secretly wish you not only owned *a* place but could walk around confident in the knowledge that you were in charge of a tightly run, economical operation! they’ll feed you yummy squid plus whatever else you order in about 5-10 mintues, give you free tea, and refused to hover around your table or talk you into ordering more than you really need. take thien hong for what it is- a salt and pepper squid people-feeding factory and be glad that you’re not paying for the decor. take your significant other with you if you really need cuddles and emotional support when you go out to dinner.Pros + *select* simple, predictably goo
Wanfu is a nice family place to go for their lunch buffet. I find it a shame that their hours are so awkward, it seems like everytime I want to go, they are closed. What I am really interested is their lunch buffet, but again, can never seem to get to because of their 11-2 window.I find as a teenager I am always seated in the back, away from the family crowd, and that the service given to me reflects that. We always get the check way too early, even before we are even done. We always tip, and we always are on our best behavior when we go out. I find this treatment reflected on us souly because of our age, which is a disappointment. But again, the food is good and cheap, and is probably the most decient for this price in the SW area.Pros + Price, Buffet, FoodCons – Service, Hours
