Where is the Best Chinese Food in Charlotte, North Carolina?
Although Shun Lee doesn’t deliver (and shares the namesake of the legendary Shun Lee Palace in NYC…don’t be confused), it offers Chinese food similar in quality to the many cheap places one finds in NYC. The prices maybe a dollar or two higher but for those looking for a decent General Tso’s or a formidable Lo Mein, try Shun Lee. I haven’t eaten at every Chinese offering in CLT, but this is the best I’ve sampled in its class. Good take out for watching a movie or staying in for the evening.Pros + NYC Style Chinese, Make anything 2 orderCons – , No menus under dr
I can’t remember having better Chinese food than this. The service here are the best! They tend to your every need and know the menu very well. The prices are very reasonable for Uptown Charlotte and the atmosphere is pleasant and comforting not stale and minimal. I frequent there often with my date and it’s quite romantic with the candle lights and smooth music at night. Althought, the place is totally different during lunch. It’s so crowded, you are literally bumping elbows with people. I highly recommend this restaurant, it clearly rules in Uptown.Pros + Great Taste, Reasonable Price, Tremendous ServiceCons – Need More Specials, Small Dining Area
The food is excellent. Served quick and hot. If your complaining about the food, you had the wrong server. Make sure you ask for Ben. We did have to wait a long time to be seated which was really frustrating when you can see open tables and they remain open through out your meal. Hope they were saving that seat for someone who paid that server a fat tip. Anywho, the wait is always worth it. Ben waited on us the first time and it was amazing, the whole experience. Excellent service, excellent recommendations, excellent personality, excellent pace; he should be running the show. The last time, Lisa waited on us. Not a good server, but I can look past that once or twice, especially once I get the food. She was overbearing and very pushy to the point of annoyance and I couldn’t enjoy my food. Also, haven’t you ever heard of silent service? I mean, if your going to interrupt a conversation, please excuse your self, that is how we act in the South. We just ignored her after awhile. The back
CHEN’S BISTRO was the first Chinese buffet of its kind in Charlotte. It’s not the greasy kind with gigantic Tsingtao Beer banners and stale eggrolls. But the $15 for the dinner buffet is a great value for the quantity and quality of food you get. With a handsome sushi bar, hibachi grill, oysters, and three buffet bars (one seafood, one soup, fruit, etc. and one hot food) there’s a wide variety of Chinese food attracting a diverse clientele. Look out for coupons in the mail, newspaper and discount pamphlets.Pros + Quality AND quality, Good ambience, Sushi, hibachi, etc.
