This place is very comfortable. No feeling of a secret soceity in which you need to be a certain way to fit in. Its a place where family and friends can make it a night. Bartenders will be Bartenders but the overall vibe is cool.Pros + VIBECons – Parking may be tough at times

The Clift is a great hotel is you are looking for a boutique, non-traditional, luxury hotel in San Francisco. Its located a block away from Union Square & within walking distance from many restaurants. The place has an overall chic modern vibe to it which hits you the minute you step into the lobby – a cool/hip bar, promising restaurant…

Went on a Friday night with reservations and was seated immediately by friendly staff. The restaurant was somewhat loud…I recommend requesting a table towards the back which is where we sat. Had some of the best food ever offered in a wine bar and the cheese plate was to die for! Wine selections were limited in some areas, especially reds by the glass. I would have liked to see more local varietals. Our server was attentive, prompt and efficient. Prices were very reasonable for portion size and wine pour. I would definitely return, but allow extra time as parking is extremely limited!!

This tucked away romantic hidey-hole in the back of a boutique hotel screams for a tryst–or maybe just that perfect first date. Even budget-mindful wine-geeks would agree, there’s something for everyone on their menu. Occassionally available cheese nibbles at the bar will tide you over until dinner, and the staff actually knows about all the wine on the menu. You can be dull and ignorant about anything, and they’ll still treat you with respect and leave you with your dignity intact (this is a must, when fumbling through a first date). Try a wine flight, or try a bottle–cozy seating and dimmed, maudlin lighting combined with the warm glow of a Malbec buzz will get you closer in no time. Pros + Enormous variety with good pricesCons – Happy Hour fills the place up fast
