We went late last Sat night (after attending a tacky fight-night event) and the lounge side was rented out for a loud private party (Armenian?). An ambitious promoter from the party tried to charge us $25 for entry. As we were walking away, a waitress/bar tender from the restaurant ran up to us and offered us entry for no charge. She chastised the promoter and walked us in. We told her that we just wanted drinks and appetizers and she gave us friendly, courteous, and quick service! She sat us at a quiet table in the restaurant side, recommended great appetizers, and made our drinks herself. We had the popcorn shrimp and the Malaysian chicken skewers with ice cold and strong martinis! Though she was also working the private event, she checked on us often, brought us water, and refilled our drinks. She saved our evening! We live close by and will be back! Pros + Service, ambiance, martinisCons – Parking is valet only

I enjoy Steve Martin. I like that he’s had white hair for as long as I can remember, and that he’s hosted SNL a bajillion times but was never a cast member, and that his last movie was a rom com where he smoked pot and made out with Meryl Streep. However, my favorite thing about Steve Martin is that he wrote “Shopgirl,” a novella about a mousy young lady named Mirabelle who falls for a smooth, rich older man, and then cast himself as the smooth, rich older man in the movie adaptation. (Boy was he smooth though, guys. He bought gloves from her and then secretly sent them to her as a gift!) Jason Schwartzman was also in the movie, which is notable only because everything Jason Schwartzman-related is notable.Mirabelle the restaurant is totally the kind of place that Mirabelle the character would dine at with smooth, rich older men. It’s managed to retained its stuffy fancypants-ness in a hip part of the Sunset Strip. Since I was there for lunch with my coworkers, I ordered a turkey burg

I had my birthday here with a party of 20+. Originally when I called I couldn’t make reservations for the time I wanted so I settled for 8pm for two lanes and was told for an hour on a Friday night. As expected my party didn’t arrive until nine and I was able to push back my reservations. Apparently though after 9pm the price of the lanes go up by $20-the guy fortunately got me at 8:59pm. The bouncers at the door were very friendly and helpful. They also let you bring a cake without any cutting fees which is rare. Service is very poor-you probably won’t see your waitress for awhile even when you want to pay your bill. Drinks are a bit pricey $10. I liked them but my friends said they weren’t that good. Fun atmosphere-recommend two hours for a lane if you’re having a party. It’s 8 to a lane and the cost of shoes.Pros + bowling, lounge, music, free parking, bring in cakeCons – no dancing, poor service, pricey drinks

Reserved a cabana for my 30th bday party last month and had a really great time, albeit a short one. The scene here starts a little early and ends early too (deserted by 12:30). Had a couple of their appetizers and they were good, albeit a bit pricey. Yes, I agree that some of the staff were a bit snooty (the server looked miffed that we wouldn’t order cocktails except for the pre-arranged alcohol we had already ordered), though the valet & other staff were friendly. Very nice background for pictures, though.Pros + great place for an early party, ambienceCons – closes early
