Tony Luke’s is a Philly tradition. If you’re looking for a cheesesteak or a chicken parm sub, this is the place to go before a Flyers, Phillies or Sixers game. And now they’re even open on Sundays before Eagles games! But if you’re looking for the absolute best roast pork sandwich on the planet, then Tony Luke’s is the place to go. The roast pork Italian comes with either broccoli rabe or spinach rabe and SHARP provolone cheese. Without hesitation I can honestly say this is the single best sandwich I’ve ever tasted. The pork has a delicious spice, the rolls are cooked on-site, the broccoli rabe has a nice zing to it and the cheese is melted heaven. Honestly, if you’re a Philly guy, you know this place. If you’re not and happen to be in Philly, do yourself a favor and head to Tony Luke’s. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

This is a decent philly cheesteak place. It is definitley better than the local pizza place, but it is not as good as Jim’s or Tony Lukes. It’s a good quick tasty bite when shopping in the reading terminal and the line is never as long as JIm’s or Tony Lukes. They use fresh meat (like they all places should) except they cook it differently than most other philly cheesteak places. Opposed to dicing the mean into little pieces, here, they cut each piece of meat thinly and throw each peace of meat on to the grill. Each sandwich has about 7-8 pieces of meat. The downside of this is that though it is juicy the meat usually has a rubbery feeling. They then throw about two pieces of cheese on top. The ratio of cheese to meat is great, meaning the sandwich is not too cheesy. If you are new to Philly this should not be your first cheesteak. It’s just not worth it. Pros + In the reading terminal marketCons – Expensive for what you get

Steaks on south is without question the best steaks I have ever had in my life. The staff is very friendly and its very clean. We went to the flyers game a few nights ago, wanted something really good yet something fast so we stopped at Steaks on south for dinner. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Friendly sevrvice, very clean and the food was outstanding. I would definately recommend Steaks on South to friends and family. I also like the wide veriety of drinks available. They have the mini old style Coke bottles too. It’s definately a 5 star restaurant and I’ll go again…. Jim Harvey S.PPros + Everything about the place, it’s very clean and great serviceCons – None to mention

We are from NYC and just came back from Philly after a short weekend getaway. I’ve been to Dalenssandro’s couple years ago and wanted to take my boyfriend there to taste how a good cheesesteak is supposed to be like. Sadly (but good) that Dalenssandro’s was closed for vacation and we went across the street to Chubby’s. To our surprise, this place is comparable to Dalenssandro’s and way better than Geno’s. Both my boyfriend and I love trying little local places instead of the big, fancy, well-known tourist traps. The steaks were huge, tender and juicy, and they served beer in an icy cold mug! We shared a cheesesteak with green peppers & onions, and a mug of Yuengling lager and it came out only $10 with tax and tips! Although it’s a bit of a drive from the downtown area but it’s definitely worth it!Pros + Cheap and tasty food! Plenty of parking spaceCons – A little far from downtown attractions
