Hmmm… Eight bucks for a small, cold cheesesteak. The only reason I went to Geno’s was because I was feeling ashamed of being the only resident of Philadelphia who hasn’t eaten there. I wanted to be…

Definitly the place to go for a chicken cheese steak if you are on South Street or even just in Philadelphia. I have not tried their traditional cheese steak so I cannot comment on that but I have had both their regular chicken and buffalo chicken cheese steaks and both were exceptional. If you are not in a hurry and the seats are available (there is very limited seating) I would suggest sitting in. My girlfriend was turned off when we went there on a summer evening because it was not air conditioned but once you sit down the breeze from the fans and the open store front are enough to keep comfortable. Big portions, both times I have been there I only needed to eat half the sandwhich to feel full, save it for leftovers or plan on splitting it with a friend. The large cheese fries are very big. Getting a soda, sandwhich and order of large cheese fries will run around $15 but is enough to feed two people easy. I have eaten at Jims, Pats, and Genos and so far Ishkabibble’s is my

I honestly don’t understand what the Gino’s and Pat’s people are thinking! No other cheesesteak is quite like Steve’s. I’ve been eating here ever since my mother was pregnant with me 21 years ago, it’s all she would eat, and I have never had a bad cheesesteak from here, ever! The best cheesesteak from any other pizza place in philly i had wasn’t even half as good as the worst Steve’s sandwich I have ever had. It is THAT good! The cheesewhiz is amazing! The steak isn’t diced but sliced and has a flavor and texture like no other cheesesteak. And the fries… Mmmm!!! I ate their hot dogs as a child and I still remember the destinctive taste today, very good! Although, the portions got a little smaller over the years but the taste has never changed. The atmosphere isn’t great either but it’s a take out joint. Deffinetly worth it. Never really longer then a 10-15 minute wait, it would be worth it anyway.Pros + no need to say more!Cons – atmosphere, capacity, price
