Read reviews from citysearch and thought going there for their crawfish special. Service is quick except when seating, no one helps. Waitress comes to us within couple minutes and bring drinks right away. recommend us happy hour specials. very nice. crawfish is great and spicy. We also had a chich philli cheese and it is the best chick sandwich we ever had. Food comes to table quick. Waitress comes by a few time during meal to check on us and replace filled bucket (alot crawfish shells). We had good time there. Will go again.Pros + crawfish, serviceCons – indoor is small, parking

Being a native New Yorker living in Houston, the one thing I consistently found myself missing was an Italian pastry shop. I grew up with rainbow cookies, black & whites, sfogliatelle, cannolis, macaroons…all sorts of wonderful desserts that just don’t seem to be offered down here in Houston (in spite of a large NY metro transplant crowd). Then I found Drew’s Pastry Place and it brought back memories of my childhood. His pastries and cookies are absolutely amazing (he just started making my favorite, rainbow cookies, and is perfecting his black & whites as we speak) and when I came in for the first time today he personally came out to greet me. It is an amazing family business with superb offerings. Not only does he do the cookies and pastries, he also does cakes (including wedding), pies, there is gelato available, all sorts of coffee and tea, and now a lunch hour as well with pizza and other things. My only gripe is that I live in Katy and he is located up on 249 and Louetta…but

There are about 5 of these in the Houston area. This one was busy on a Thursday noon. The restaurant is pleasant enough although perhaps lacking in atmosphere. They claim a latin fusion menu – whatever it was, it was interesting, with plenty of appetizing meals to choose from. We split an entree which cost us $2.50 but the prices are reasonable anyways, and even though split, each portion was enough to fill us. The salsas (one sweet, one mild) were some of the best I’ve tasted, but the chips were corn chips which although edible, aren’t the best in town. If you’re in the area, this place is worth a look. Convenient parking, within a block of 59, north on Kirby.
