From the mid-seventies, through the mid-eighties, Woody’s was always a pleasure to drop-in, before heading to the park. Of course more competition has moved in, and the face of Midtown is changing–closing of Silver Grill, Backstreet, etc. The Steak/Cheese Philly was the calling card. As was the terrific Banana Shakes! But poor service, poor food quality is taking a toll. Parking has always been a problem. But that great JJ. of L.A. sign, is still a landmark at this intersection.Pros + Philly Cheesesteaks!
