Where is the Best Celebrity Chef in New York, New York?
We were shopping at Bloomingdale’s on a Tuesday evening and decided to get a bite and a drink at David Burke, never again! We ordered a crab and a chicken sandwich and two of their house special margaritas. The margaritas were ok, but absolutely unadorned and served in food-service style water glasses. The food, well the food took about 40 minutes to arrive at our table, as we watched numerous tables sit down and get their food. The waiter kept on coming by and telling us that it’s coming. When it finally arrived it was a bland mess. The crab panini consisted of unseasoned crab mush between badly toasted Wonder-style slices of bread; it was lukewarm. The chicken panini was unmanageable, most of the filling fell out at first bite. We ate quickly and waited for 10 minutes for our check, as we watched numerous Bloomingdale’s employees congregate by the entrance and have a loud gossip session. A minute before our bill arrived another waiter brought us yet another set of the two dishes we o
My boyfriend and I dined at The London last night for his birthday. I had been unable to make a reservation because I only called about a month before the date, but I was actually offered a table the day before off of the wait list. Overall, I found the experience of dining here extremely enjoyable. One of the best parts of the restaurant is that you walk through the rather noisy, family-filled bar and cafe through a large door into what is definitely one of the chic-est and most fancy rooms I have dined in. The tables are intimate, sitting a couple side by side rather than across from one another. The staff was extremely attentive throughout the meal. Actually, it was rather cleverly choreographed, as we were waited by at least 6 different servers throughout the night. My boyfriend and I both chose the 3 course meal for $100. The cocktail selection is mediocre, but the wine selections are endless. The only problem was that it took us almost 30 minutes to decipher the menu, whi
I typically don’t write reviews of restaurants, but I had to do put a few words about this place. It was surprising to be welcomed on a Saturday night – late in the evening, with no reservation. Me and my fiancee sat down and we had the duck meatballs and the octopus. Both were literally amazing – nicely seasoned, nothing to be changed at all. Our server wasn’t pushy or interrupting at all – just timely in his words to us and his service. She had the pork while I had the hanger steak – Wow – we typically don’t clean off our plates, but everything was just outstanding – and we couldn’t stop eating or beaming about how great everything was. The drinks were nicely prepared – a bit heavy on liquor – but hey, that’s cool with us!We shared a dessert since we were quite full – we chose the chocolate plate. Unfortunately (for me), my fiance who is a chocaholic gave me 2 tastes and hogged the entire thing – she said she’d never had something so wonderful. The mexican chocolate was ju
