Where is the Best BYOB Restaurant in San Francisco, California?
A friend of mine told me to check out Tasty Curry and boy was he right. While it is a no frills restaraunt, the staff is always friendly and the food is always consistently good. This isn’t your high end indian restaurant, and it isn’t trying to be. It is good food and low priced, what more could you ask for? Pros + Inexpensive and tastyCons – Portions can be smaller than like restaurants
Normally I am not one to write reviews, but this place is really one that required my adding my 2¢ to the ether. Wow! This place is truly a find, and the food is awesome. This is the kind of curry house that I would expect to find on Brick Lane in London. We had the vegetable pakora, chicken tikka masala, and the achar gosht, basmati rice, and onion nan. MMMMMMmmmmmm….. The spices have wonderful flavours, ones that add the fire to your mouth in that savoury way where you really feel alive. The design is really simple and works with the overall atmosphere. This place is truly a find–I am so glad that it is 5 blocks form my house–I already know that this will be one of my regular haunts from now on.Mrs. Lovett’s Meat PiesPros + INCREDIBLE food. Cheap! Funky atmosphereCons – None, really.
The service is SLOW, and there tends to be a wait for a table if you go during the dinner rush. But the food is amazing, just like the price. This is a great place to go if you are with someone you can hold a nice LONG conversation with. I will continue to go back time after time.Pros + great food at an exceptional valueCons – slow service

I’ve been to about a dozen Indian restaurants and this restuarant is exceptionaI. I chose this restaurant based on Citysearch’s positive reviews since I was visiting from out of town and was unfamiliar with local restaurants. Choosing Darbar turned out to be a great move, surpassing my high expectations. The samosas were inexpensive and freshly made. The naan was fluffy and perfectly cooked. Usually naan is burned in many areas, yet this naan was burn-free. My boyfriend ordered lamb skewers, which tasted just a good as the restaurants that charge almost double for the same thing. The manager was concerned about the comfort of his guests, and seemed eager to please. We ordered extra naan, and it was out almost immediately, despite the packed house he was simultaneously attending to. At the end I was offered complimentary tea, which was an e
