Where is the Best BYOB Restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?

We went to this fine BYOB last night for a celebratory event. The restaurant is fairly small and fills up quickly, but it seemed to create stress for the hostess. There was a beleagured-looking manager who appeared frustrated with the staff at a few occasions throughout the night but was quick to apologize for the small infractions (we had to wait to sit even though two tables were open and could have sat our party, though we had a reservation). But there was a few loud bangs and crashes from the kitchen throughout the night and the manager almost suffered a bad fall on spilt water or liquid of some kind. But the food was truly top-notch. The special that night was Mahi-Mahi, and it was excellent. The striped bass was also delicious, with a crispy skin and with mushrooms on the side in a wine reduction sauce. When you go, at least one person in your party MUST order the scallops – succulent and tasty. One of our party ordered the rib-eye steak, and while he said it was delicious

We were delighted to be able to try out Chloe with out-of-town guests Saturday night. Our game plan on the busiest Saturday in Philly (convention, World Series game, Penn Family weekend) was to dine early-we were a party of 5. Raining and miserable outside, the candlelit charm of Chloe was very inviting. The decor is warm and cozy. What was not so inviting was the surly hostess that would not seat us until the group member parking the car showed up (even after we stopped by the restaurant to inquire about a group of 5 before we picked up our out-of-town guests at their hotel.) Yet, while dining, I noticed a couple seated at a table of 4 alone for a bit until their dining mates eventually joined them. They must be regulars. On a high note, our waitress was terrific (dressed in her Utley Phillies shirt) and made up for the sourness of the hostess. As to the food, our appetizers and desserts were absolutely delicious – a melange of salads, oysters, and a shrimp dish started off th

Had dinner at Audrey Claire on a Sunday, it was not that crowded and my date was already seated when I arrived, so I cannot comment on any wait or seating issues. We began with the pear and gorgonzola flatbread which I believe was also topped with toasted pine nuts. This sounded like a great combination to me and it really lived up to my expectations, it was also huge. We also had the grilled octopus salad with feta and red onions that was a really tasty dish. I had the lamb with cous cous which I found to be really delicious and proceeded to devour. My companion had the risotto with wild boar sausage. I found this to be a tasty and very interesting dish. We finished with the warm chocolate cake which I was not blown away by, but it was fairly light and very good. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. I must agree with some other viewers that the tiny wine glasses were annoying (even after I tried to imagine myself in a small town in the French countryside) they were just too sm

First, a caveat: I haven’t been to Rx for over a year (due to my busy hospital schedule, not any decline in service/food on their part), so I can’t speak to any changes that might have occurred in the past year. However, my experiences before that were stellar. Unlike the most recent reviewer, I found the service to be excellent. The servers were always incredibly warm, and on Mother’s Day, when I took my mom to brunch, they gave me an unsolicited discount for being a regular! Plus, they were very gracious in participating in this ridiculous scavanger hunt I orchestrated for my boyfriend’s birthday (they were one of the “stations” he had to find). But back to the food…their brunch is incredible. I’m not sure what they do to their french toast, but it’s delicious. it has this strange crunchy/caramelized stuff on the outside, and the berry syrup is lovely. And I’ve been fortunate to go to brunch on several occasions with friends that keep kosher, and I inherited the most magnif
