I have been to this place more times than I care to admit simply because it’s so convenient. Located in the Park Road Shopping area (the new one with Jason’s Deli), it offers a good alternative when you have a group of people who cannot decide on where to go. The drinks here are by far the best thing this place has going for it. Thursday evenings the drink specials are 2nd to none at 1/2 off all liquor drinks. They also have 50cent wings on Thursday if you are hungry. On Saturdays they have $10 buckets and inexpensive draft drinks. Now for the food. I cannot say that I am blown away by it, but its good. All of the food seems fairly fresh and I personally have not had a meal that I did not like. I have been out with friends before and they have been let down by both the quality and quantity of the food given. Once with the shrimp and grits and the other with one of the chicken sandwiches. All in all it’s a decent spot to just go and grab a bite with some friends and have a few dri

If you’re a tech savvy, food buff who loves live music, wine bars and the environment, you need to check out T1 Tapas. At first glance it may seem like your ordinary restaurant, minus the high definition projectors and trendy styling. But sit down at one of the “tech-booths” and prepare to engage in a VERY different dining experience. The table is an enormous touch screen menu with detailed descriptions of menu items including pictures and pricing. When you’ve decided what to eat, the in-table computer morphs into a user-friendly entertainment center with movie trailers, radio stations, sports channels and picture slide shows. (I actually met here for a business meeting and plugged in my laptop to use the wide screen TV above our booth as a display screen.) Speakers are implanted into the seats and headrests and have adjustable volume controls for privacy. With all the entertainment possibilities I was pleasantly surprised to find the food was actually, very good. They had several hea

I heard many things about B&B and after living in CLT for several years, I finally gave this old staple a try. When I walked inside the door, I felt like we stepped into a time warp. This quiet den was dimly lit and had several framed pictures of old Hollywood stars adorning the wood paneled walls. When I said wood paneled, I mean painted plywood. The place had character and was fast becoming an experience. Once seated, the waiter took our drink order. The glasses of wine are extremely healthy and their cocktails generous. We ordered our steaks and delighted that they all come with a salad and side. The salad is unique in that it comes out as a plate of lettuce and all your accoutrement’s (cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, etc,) are served on a platter for you to choose what you want. The dressings are all made in-house. The steaks were served and surprisingly well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There was butter on the steaks so make sure you ask to hold it if you’re not inte
