Where is the Best Buffet in San Francisco, California?
Wow! You wouldn’t have guessed it by looking at the outside of this place that it’s a happening place to be. You’re in the middle of the Tenderloin, and the place looks pretty dumpy from the outside, but that’s where it’s deceiving!Once you walk through those doors, it’s another world. At least on the Friday night I went. It’s definitely a trendy and in-the-know place to be. Reservations are a MUST unless you don’t mind standing and waiting for some seats at the bar, which turnover every 10-15 minutes, so it’s not to bad. You should get a drink and mingle in the meantime.I haven’t tried all their drinks, but I think they’re all supposed to be superb. I had the Orange Bellini (Crushed Orange Puree and Champagne), which came in a classy glass and tasted phenomenal. I wanted to try the Kiwi Margarita, but they ran out so they turned to the Mango Margarita. I asked a gal about the Strawberry Rhubarb Martini she was holding: she was ecstatic about it and claimed she was going
The Lemon Decadence cake is divine! We ordered the lemon decadence cake in the 1/4 sheet size for an at-work bridal shower. Everyone absolutely went bonkers over it! It was about as fresh, and moist a cake as you can get. The description said it was made with coconut (coming from someone who is definitely not a fan of coconut) but it was so incredibly fresh, and subtle that it couldn’t possibly have scored big without that suble hint. Absolutely fantastic cake! Every layer was a taste sensation. We had a good deal of the cake leftover from the shower yesterday, and people keep going back into the kitchen for more today! Fresh. Fresh. Fresh.Pros + Medium-size market…good for picking up a few hot items for lunch/dinner.Cons – No parking.
Helmand bundled me up with that warm home cooked feeling…like thanksgiving all over again. Afghan thanksgiving :)The Sabzi Challow was perfectly cooked.Lamb – tenderliciously satisfying.Rice and spinach – warm and complimenting.Prices were more than reasonable – 12.95 for healthy portions and the staff smiled with my ooohs and ahhs.Come here with a full appetite because you will clean your plate. YUM.
Sultan is a very good Indian Restaurant. I do not agree with the reviewer who dissed it vehemently. Don’t forget that the chain of Nan and Curries are everywhere including right next door. Sultans’ food is much better than theirs, though, (I do like the one on Irving Street in the Sunset- It is ok- their chai is the best. ) Sultans’ chef is original and talented, her food is unique and I recommend you try it. At the lunch buffet they have wonderful salads and fresh veggies which are nearly impossible to get at an Indian restaurant. Most Indian Restaurants overcook the vegetables until they are mush and bathe them in oil. Also the decor is understated but classy in a relaxed way. My friend goes there at least once a week and he is Indian.Pros + Nice atmosphere, different dishes, fresh ingredients, less oilCons – It’s right next door to an Indian chain of restaurants who are cheap and rude in SF.
The Ritz! San Francisco’s finest. Life can’t get any better. A stately exterior–a beautiful and elegant interior–an ambiance that shouts “exclusive luxury.” That’s The Ritz. Guests are warmly greeted upon arrival by a well-trained, attentive staff and offered a glass of champagne, my favorite beverage–how thoughtful. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Ambiance and service met every expectation. We…
