Where is the Best Buffet in New York, New York?
Ate here last night for the third time with a few family/friends (7 total). Meal was great EXCEPT at bill time. “Danny” our waiter had the nerve to write on the check that we should leave him 20%. I’d certainly leave 20% at a full-service restaurant, but for a buffet I think 15% is fair. We didn’t get any special treatment and were also sitting in the steaming hot mezzanine (despite having made a reservation). We decided to pay with credit card and leave a 15% cash tip. Before we were able to get the tip in the billfold, the waiter grabbed the bill off our table and two steps away, opens it up to see if we left him his tip. When he saw there was no tip left on the receipt, he ran to consult one of his coworkers and one of the managers, then glanced back at our table and saw there was cash tucked under my mom’s plate. Went there twice so far and intend on going back. Great food and staff. First I’ll talk about the food. You must try the corn on the cob!! The calamari was also so delicious! Not greasy at all! Perfectly cooked. We had the steak quesedilla, burger and fries, guacamole, and tuna salad. All were excellent choices. Now about the staff. Something very unfortunate occurred when we were there on our 2nd visit. Someone who was walking out of the restaurant stole my friend’s purse. I can’t even put into words the loss and feeling at that moment or realization!! It was our innocence’s fault as my friend hung her purse on the back of her chair. Well, the staff was devasted! They immediately called the police (who showed up in 5 minutes, which anyone who has ever needed the police in Astoria, know it can take a long time for them to show up). I went to see belly dancer Dalia Carella. She was amazing, the restaurant was nice the bartender was friendly,. The food was delicious. I had pasta with shrimp.It was my birthday, the live band played, Greek, turkish and the singer was Israeli.she sang some songs in Hebrew. I went with my wife and another couple the other night based on online reviews. The food was superb and the prices couldn’t be beat. More than anything that we were amazed of is the “PHENOMENAL SERVICE”. From the pleasing greeting we got at the entrance to the frequent stopovers to have feedbacks was soooo proficient and lovely – we all felt welcome and appreciated…..me and my wife definitely be back this weekend :)Pros + Food and Service Cons – ONLINE INTERNET ORDER FACILITY
