Where is the Best Buffet in Austin, Texas?
I have been here twice now and it does not disappoint. While a bit pricey for dinner, considering you are getting all you can eat, its a steal! The meats are wonderful, especially the traditional brazilian steak with garlic – it is too good. I would recommend having a light lunch on the day you are coming here for dinner so you have enough room to try all the meats and really enjoy them. The salad bar is ok – though I prefer to save my room for the main courses!Pros + Brazilian Steak with Garlic, ServiceCons – Salad bar is nice, but not needed
My husband and I we’re planning on ordering from Austin’s Pizza one day but who knew they close so early at 8pm? So we decided to try Lamppost and we’re glad we did. It’s so much better than Austin’s and they serve more than just pizza. They’re lot more friendly too.I like the atmosphere. It’s a perfect place for parties. We’ve been going back to Lamppost since. ^_^Pros + Good food, Nice place, Friendly
The ambience is wonderful, the service is great and the food is excellent. We will go back in a heartbeat. It is so nice to have this quality of restaurant in Austin! The portions are very big. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, although the minestrone is a bit thicker than is classic and had no legumes. The salad dressing and all the sauces were excellent and rich; The boar shanks were so tender they melted in your mouth and the pork chop was thick and juicy with a fabulous marsala sauce. With a bottle of wine and tip (no dessert or coffee) we spent $75, but could have ordered much less and left full.Pros + Great happy hourCons – no parking
I’m surprised to see the negative reviews for the buffet. I ate there for lunch about 2 weeks ago on a weekend and it was delicious. There was a large variety (7-8 warm items) plus pakoras, samosas and an entire separate table of cold items like fruits, salads, desserts and raitas. The manager was very helpful in explaining what some dishes I am unfamiliar with were. And one customer requested more paneer in the Saag Paneer and they immediately ran to get more…some of us tend to pick it out!I thought it was a great value – for the lunch buffet our total bill was maybe $25 for 2 and we left stuffed! There was plenty of meat. I am not sure how much the dinner buffet costs but I’m sure it’s a bit more. Still the quality and atmosphere would make it worth more at dinner. There is a coupon on their website too.Pros + variety and value of lunch buffet, nicer inside than it looks from the outsideCons – easy parking and access from IH 35
My husband and I went on a Friday night recently. I went in having low expectations, knowing it was a buffet style restaurant and in my experience this usually means a wide variety of mediocre food, usually overpriced because of all the waste that is taken into account. Keeping that in mind, I wasn’t really disappointed. I was actually pleasantly surprised with a lot of the dishes, and I appreciated that the “chefs” put out small, fresh quantities of everything instead of enormous troughs. We had fun sampling all the different kinds of food, though there was too much to be able to try it all in one visit. Some of our favorites were pasta dishes, like Rigatoni Primavera, Pasta Rossa, and Fire Roasted Vegetable Lasagna. I also really liked the rotisserie chicken, and the meatloaf with balsamic glaze. Some of the vegetables that stood out were the broccoli limone, the butternut squash, and the summer squash. All the salads where pretty good, and the little mushroom toasts wer
