I have taken dozens of employees to eat at Brennan’s for their 5 year anniversary with our business. Many look forward to going to Brennan’s for lunch. I was to take another employee next month and now very sad that we will have to choose another place. I hope they plan on rebuilding as I will miss greatly those special occasions for lunch. Alex, our prayers are with your family during this time. Chris Smith, Grace Community Church.

My husband and I recently were driving up the down the streets in the River Oaks area to look at all the Holiday lights. When we stumbled across this little cafe for dinner. When we first walked in, we noticed the lovely holiday decorations that seems to give this restaurant a warm and cozy feel to it. Which we like very much.We were greeted by the friendly staff and seated right away. Amazingly, since it was crowded. After looking at the delicious menu it was time to make up our minds. I started with the baked goat cheese salad. A little bigger than I expected, but so tasty I ate the whole thing. The combination of the grilled apples, spiced pecans and an entire bulb of roasted garlic made this salad my new favorite. My husband had the tortilla crusted shrimp. YUM!! Crisp shrimp, savory sauce. What else could you ask for. Our waiter suggested a great bottle of wine to go with our entrees. He seemed knowledgable enough so we went with it. I had the Beef tenderloin. It was g

The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is that you don’t feel like you are in Clear Lake anymore. It “feels” like a Houston restaurant. Lovely environment. I do feel that the main dining room is a tad loud on a busy night. The first time we visited I had the prime rib and my husband had the salmon. Both were delicious. Great flavors in the meats, not too much, just enough. I did not enjoy the potato fingerlings with came with my steak, however, because they tasted like they belonged with stew meat. The rest was fantastic. We had the Dr. Pepper chocolate cake for dessert and it was heaven! I ordered a manhattan to start, but they didn’t have any sweet vermouth. About 10 minutes later, they came to my table to apologize and said they had run out and gotten some. I was impressed. Overall, a great meal at a reasonable price. The second time we went with took another couple. We all enjoyed our bottle of wine and our main dishes. Again, the sides could be more

During a recent visit to Houston, a friend brought me to this new Restaurant. Turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip! Situated in a new plaza, this South African Fusion restaurant offered fantastic food and service in a uniquely decorated and comfortable space. From the huge “Acacia” tree in the middle, to the cool color-changing lighting on the walls, the decor becomes part of the dining experience. The advertising screens were also interesting, showing short videos of the chef, and the specials throughout the week. There was a live two-person band playing which created a nice background ambiance, but wasn’t overpowering as we were still able to carry on a normal conversation. The serving staff was knowledgeable and took good care of us. We were even lucky enough to meet Chef Paul, who came out a couple times and greeted customers, asking us how we were enjoying our meals. He obviously takes great pride in his restaurant and his food and it shows. So what about the
