Where is the Best Brunch in Hartford, Connecticut?
Adams Mill has a great Sunday brunch. It is buffet style and there is a great variety. The eggs benedict are wonderful! It can get very crowded with everyone standing in line to go up to the buffet but as long as you aren’t making too many trips up and down your meal can be quite comfortable. Dinner is also very good and it is a little cozier and more upscale than so many of the chain restaurants that are right in the same area. You will pay for it though–the food is not inexpensive.
I have visited the Dakota in Lenox, MA and this one in Avon, CT- both are very similar. Log cabin style restaurant with good steaks and lobster. The salad bar is good. Sunday brunch is a nice family outing with casual dress. The home made multi-grain bread that arrives prior to your dinner is excellent. I prefer this type of steakhouse. There are a several rooms and room for a large group. Pros + Log Cabin Theme. Good Steaks. Good Breads. Cons – Opens late in afternoon on most days.
My husband and I live in New York ? Arugula is our favorite restaurant in CT! We dine there every time we?re in town visiting family. It?s a small restaurant, so it?s cozy, warm, beautifully decorated, and a great place for a romantic dinner.The cuisine is magical – You can tell the chef put her heart and soul into this bistro. Must Have?s: the roasted eggplant and wonton napoleon, the grilled calamari, the duck confit and Andouille sausage flat bread, and the Chilean Sea Bass or the Seared Tuna entrees. Bring your appetites however; the portions are quite generous (and priced reasonably)! The waiters are very helpful in explaining the four-page menu (!) and with offering recommendations; they are also very attentive without being intrusive.No liquor is served, but there is a wonderfully eclectic wine list (also affordable and approachable). I went to The Elbow Room about a week ago.Because it was my birthday,I wanted the dinner to be top-notch, so I researched several restaurants in the Hartford area before going.The Elbow Room had great reviews:I saw that it had many top ratings in the Hartford Advocate,and I read several rave reviews on other websties.I wanted a moderately priced dinner in an easygoing setting with exceptional food.The Elbow Room met few of my dinner expectations. First of all, The Elbow Room supposedly has great outdoor seating; however, you cannot make reservations for outdoor seats on the roof patio, so when you arrive at the restaurant you won’t get patio seats without a long wait. There ARE outdoor seats available, but unless you want to sit on cheap metal seats next to a busy city street, I do not suggest the curbside seats. The lighting inside came from one candle on the table, which wasn’t enough.I wasn’t able to see anyone I was trying to talk to! And speaking of talking, The Elbow Room was
