There are a few things you should know about Charlotte’s before you go…Bring pictures of gowns you’re interested in and keep an open mind about what style will suit you. Make an appointment about two days ahead and ask for Suzanne. She made everyone feel very comfortable and seemed to be as excited about my wedding as I was!Bring your own slip and strapless bra. One of the drawbacks was the icky thing with belly button sweat on it that they asked me to wear. You may politely say “No thank you” to that and wear your own.Remain calm. Although the staff is there to help you get the dress of your dreams, they are not your maids, therapists, or magicians. Treat them as you would like to be treated. Be nice.I did go to a few other shops in the area with a general idea of what I wanted and what I was willing to spend. Reading all of the reviews on here made me a little nervous about going to this shop, but upon our scheduled arrival, we were greeted by two members of the staff ver

My wife and I have been to Gilt about a half dozen times in the past year (we were shopping for a wedding ring) and each time we were warmly received. During our first visit, we let the salesperson know that we were in the market for a wedding ring. She was eager to help and quick to offer neat little details about each of the rings we were interested in. It took us a few visits to find a ring (after our 2nd visit, we noticed a vast change in the selection, so we thought that it might be a good idea to show up often). The salespeople at Gilt began to recognize us as regular customers but they never showed any sign of frustration with our relentless browsing. After 4 or 5 visits we found the one ring that my wife couldn’t live without, a gold 1940’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring (she uses it as her wedding band). We later went back to buy a gift for the woman who was performing our wedding ceremony. Since we weren?t sure what to buy, the salesperson began to ask questions abo

The Xtabay is the only place I can think of in Portland that is actually fun to shop at and I don’t leave feeling like crap about myself. The store has such a good range of sizes (size 10 shoes too!)and the larger items are just as lovely as the size six dresses and shoes. Each item in there has it’s own special charm. (I never feel like I’m wading through junk to get to the one tresure in the place), plus they’re ALWAYS getting in new stuff. This store is great. you must hit if you’ve never been there. OH, also the people who work there are very nice and helpful and know the inventory well enough to help you out if you’re feeling stuck. Very sincerely, Sarah F. PS the prices here are very reasonable tooPros + selection, good prices, good time atmosphereCons – uh, ?, hmmm
