Where is the Best Breakfast in Portland, Oregon?
As an employee of Twilight for the last 1.5 years I definitely know what every item in the restaurant tastes like. And I have to say I LOVE 98% of our menu items. I have had many years of working with pizza (Godfathers, Dominoes and Dragoos) and know that Twilight has the best pizza that I have come across in the Portland Metro Area. I started working as a cook my first 8 months at Twilight, and then was able to move to the front of the house and become a server. I truly enjoy serving at Twilight and taking care of our guests. We have quite a few fantastic regulars, who I look forward to seeing weekly. I have met many fantastic people and have heard sooooo many compliments about our food, service, decor (the floor and the giant blue paper lantern), our involvement with the community, and the general atmosphere of the restaurant. There are people that drive from Lake Oswego and Woodland when they want pizza. (That is a huge honor, since there are dozens of pizza joints between us
Typically I’ve thought of the Cadillac Cafe as a great place for breakfast, which it is, but I went there for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Red Curry Salmon and it was delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfection and while there wasn’t a lot of it, I didn’t complain as the rice more than made up for the lack of fish. Afterwards, we ordered dessert and I had the Pumpkin Mousse. I love Pumpkin but even this was a bit much of a Pumpkin aftertaste even for me. My only real compliant was the service. Our waitress was pretty unfriendly, had no sense of humor, and my friend and I felt like she didn’t really want to be there. When he ordered dessert, there were two choices, and he said we’d take one of each. It seemed pretty straight-forward but she just stood there with a combination of “duh” and attitude on her face. He repeated it again and she took our order. This is a pretty interesting place inside. There is a tricked out Pink Cadillac inside the restaurant. It’s hard t
I visit Bijou for brunch every Saturday. Their food is consistently good, and the loose leaf black tea is wonderful. The boyfriend loves their muffins and vegetarian options. One thing I don’t like is that they won’t make substitutions. I’m allergic to wheat, so I’ve asked before for extra salad instead of the bread item. Oh well. Double muffins for the boyfriend. They also missed our name on their wait list once, and seated some people before us who came in after us, but we were promptly seated next when I pointed this out.Once in a while, I cheat on Bijou and try out another place, and I almost always regret it.Pros + Awesome tea, good menu, great locationCons – Long waits, won’t do substitutions (only omissions)
