Where is the Best Breakfast in Nashville, Tennessee?
We have visited this establishment for breakfast which is great. Dinner can be better. I have ordered Chicken and dumplings at two different times. Once it looked like they were running out it. I got two pieces of chicken strips and the other time is was good.Pros + nice to stare at fire, waitresses are friendCons – inconsistent in food
I would not have minded to wait here because the lawn and porch were so nice, but there was no wait for us that day. Best biscuits and homemade blackberry jam. This is truly down home southern cooking. The country ham, hash browns casserole made this the best breakfast. This is a great place to share with friends. The prices are very reasonable.
I was expecting something a little stuffy, but aside from the fact that it looks like the dining room at a country club, it wasn’t the least bit stuffy.Our waitress was very nice and helpful, really giving us good information since it was our first time there.The Chicken Salad & the Spinach/Bacon Quich were both excellent choices.For dessert (if you can resist, more power to you), we tried the Jackson Pie and the Sour Cream Coconut Cake, both of which were excellent.Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
We had my husbands USS Midway Reunion in Nashville, and I chose Monell’s as the place to have our last dinner all together before everyone departing Nashville. We live in Ca and picked this out only looking at the Internet. OMG, what a surprise this was, and this left a forever memory with everyone as it was so GOOD!!! I have traveled over half this earth and have eaten in places rated from 5 star to those to sleazy to be rated, but I have never eaten at a place where everything served was as well prepared, and as tasty as the food served at Monells. The staff were efficient and friendly, the atmosphere charming, and the food just kept coming and coming, everything was cooked to perfection, and that banana pudding was second only to what my mother in law used to make. It makes a great place to have a group dinner, as you pay individually, very reasonable, all sit together. They don’t accept reservations, but our group was there at the door when they opened at 5:00pm for dinner. My frie
