My grandmother has a condo two blocks from the Beach Hut Cafe, so it is an easy early morning walk for a good, homestyle breakfast and coffee. If you are on a diet, I don’t recommend this place! There is nothing low cal or low fat on the menu – just good old fatty breakfast foods. Of course, they serve other meals, but I have never eaten anything but breakfast here. You can get pretty much anything you want, even if it is not on the menu. Stay away from the pancakes though, they are a little tough. You also either want to come early, as we do, or closer to the tail end of the breakfast rush because it can be hard to get a table. Having won many accolades from local papers and magazines, the Beach Hut is a great place to eat. Once you go, you will go back! The people are friendly and the food is affordable – not to mention good! I highly recommend their biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon.Pros + excellent food; excellent valueCons – can get busy
Grumpy’s is a no-nonesense establishment. Menu offerings are limited, but what they do, they do well. It is our favorite place for breakfast….the best eggs benedict anywhere at any price. Omlets are terrific. Dietary limitations are accomodated. Great coffee and your cup is never empty. Best of all…service is pleasant and efficient. No one is Grumpy. Get there early on the week-ends. It has limited seating and no indoor waiting area.
