Where is the Best Breakfast in Buffalo, New York?
I had not been to Towne since I moved away from Buffalo in the 80’s but on coming back, we dined at Towne to find that the food and service was just as good now as it was then. I have compared every Gyro I have eaten since to those that I had at Towne while I was in college. The wait staff still serves the best Gyros in Buffalo. The combination plate is not only a great way to taste some of the most popular menu items, but is also very filling, a challenge to complete. The lemon rice soup is a wonderful compliment to flavors of lamb and greek potatoes. I found the staff to not only be fast and efficient, but friendly and sociable as well. We have frequented Amy’s Place for about the last Twelve years. They have great Vegetarian choices which are few in Buffalo. We started going here with my Vegetarian daughter and my husband and I have grown to love the food ourselves, graduating to the Lentil-Berry wrap. There is definitely a variety of choices. The staff is friendly, and very accomodating to personal taste requests. This is not a dinner type menu although we do eat dinner there, it is mainly sandwiches and wraps. They have great breakfasts too with made to order choices. Pretty reasonable to average prices.Being near UB there are alot of college students, but there is still a mix of ages. They are always busy, but are quick to serve, so usually the wait goes fast.Pros + Great Food and Service, FriendlyCons – Size of seating space. Parking is sometimes tough on main, but usually not bad on side streets
The food can be made at home for a lot less, but as a long time cook I can tell you it’s not easy to make it as well! The service is as quick as it can be given the sheer volume of customers, so try during off hours. I highly recomend their kid’s menu – even for adults! The size of the servings will ensure that you don’t over eat.. And given the quality of the food, overeating is a real danger. Don’t even think about dieting while there.
