Where is the Best Brazilian Bikini Wax in Portland, Oregon?
I never write reviews but I was surprised that no one has ever written a review mentioning Man so I decided to write one now..I’ve been coming to Poshe Salon since they have opened(almost 5 years now) and Man (pronounced mON) was the very first person I was scheduled with and eversince then.. I never tried anyone else. I get everything done by Man; nails and waxing (eyebrows, underarms, bikini.. the whole shabang). Let me tell you.. it is HARD finding the right place to get nails/waxing done. I’m asian so my eyebrows grow differently than others and if you don’t have the right experience with waxing asian eyebrows then it turns out pretty bad. The nails ALWAYS turn outs out great, most of the time I see people who get their nails done at other places.. turn out to look tacky.Besides having nails/waxing done by Man, I come to Tony for hair cuts/bang trims. Amanda at Lola’s really knows how to treat you. I go every 4 weeks for a brow wax and as often as a can for a facial. Her facials are out of this world. My skin has never felt better. There are several different treatments involved and steam if you like it. Ask her to do a facial for your feet!Lola’s is small but inviting. She has warming blankets in the massage table that make me melt – even if I’m just having a brow wax.When I went to Vegas I got a bronzing treatment there as well. It started out with exfoliation and then application of the bronzing lotion. She was very careful not to scrub too hard on my splotchy sunburn which I appreciated. It was super affordable ($40 I think?) and she even sent me home with some of the product to use on my face.The downsides? My search for an incredible and perfect hair stylist is finally over!! Heather is absolutely the answer I have been waiting for. You guys, she is an angel sent from heaven!!!! I have been to way too many hair stylists and salons (seriously, it’s embarrassing to share all the places and people I have been to in order to find Heather) only to be disappointed. All my haircuts in the past have either been terrible, mediocre, or just something that I am not wowed by. You know those people you see walking down the street and you want to just stop and ask them where they get their hair done? Well….thanks to the lovely Heather, I am now one of those people! I have NEVER been one those people until I went to Heather! It’s not only that other people notice my fabulous hair, but I feel like a movie star now. I had been looking for someone to trust with my hair and i read so many good reviews on Jena I decided to giver her a try. It was very convenient since she starts at 6am so I can get my hair done before I need to go into work. I went in the first time not knowing what I wanted and some how it turned out better than what I could have dreamed of. I recently went back to get highlights in to give my hair texture for an up-do for a wedding I was in, She listened to what I needed I gave me highlights that look natural, hide when I have my hair down, and makes my hair look amazing when its up. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have never done anything dramatic to my hair but in her hands I feel like anything she does will make me look amazing in the end. My next appointment is for a Keratin treatment to straighten out my frizzy hair. She gave me a lot of information on it, and gave me good advice whether I should do it or not because of my hair type. I don’t know where to begin. I love this place. Frankly, I can’t really afford it – or any spa – at this time in my life but I make it work about 3x/year (and my husband knows to get me gift certificates there!) because what it does for stress is SO WORTH IT. I always get the 80 minute massage and then sit in the grotto afterward. The price of the massage may be a tad higher than at other places, and I almost put that down as a “con,” but the grotto is included which makes it waaaay worth it for what you get, since I’d pay just to use it! It’s like being transported to another place and time – a very roman baths feel or maybe it’s an ancient tomb feel (nice dim lighting too, which can be adjusted) but whatever it is, it’s amazing. You sit in this very large (small pool-sized) jacuzzi next to a beautiful tiled wall with tea candles and they bring you wine or champagne or tea or a few other options, with appetizers, and the ceiling above slowly changes colors and has stars!
