Alan Bilzerian is my favorite clothing store in Boston. It’s where to go to find interesting clothing that are essentially works of art. I go there because it’s the local place to find Yohji Yamamotos, although they have all kinds of equally interesting and hard-to-find designers. Bilzerian is a place where you can expect to pay for your clothing as though you were shopping in a gallery. It’s very rare that I can afford to actually buy clothing at Bilzerian, but they have good sales. If you’re lucky, you can find something incredible marked down from absurd to expensive.I should say, though, that what I have bought at Bilzerian is so extraordinary that I receive compliments on it every time I wear it. It always looks striking and classy and understated, and for many events it is the perfect thing to wear, and it does not go out of style, because it is outside of fashion. It never was in style, meaning it has no imitators and it does not imitate. So while I paid a chunk for wh

Habit has been my best discovery yet. Almost everyday I put on an outfit that has at least one piece or accesory purchased from the store. Pam and Lela are the most down to earth, customer and fashion savvy girls ever and what’s great is they are just as attentive and friendly when you’re in a spending mood or just browsing. People, Southie is NOT that far away. It’s 2.5 miles from downtown and has street parking! This Christmas season, get down to Habit to stock up on great stocking stuffers or the perfect New Years Eve ensemble. If you already have something in your wardrobe but want to spice it up, bring it in to the store and Pam or Lela will help you find something to make it pop. This is one habit worth starting.Pros + Location, Parking, Customer ServiceCons – Trying to find one

Crush is a refreshing addition to the 100 block of Charles street offering both MEN’s (a rarity) and women’s smashing clothing and accessories. Treasures are sure to be found by all! The layout creates space that is easy to move around in and displays all their merchandise clearly. Crush’s cheerful owners helped me find just what I was looking for and provided great advice. Whether you sit on their comfy couch, grab some water, or an awesome top and the perfect earrings (which you can’t find anywhere else) the comfort of the store is welcoming – Crush is a must see!Pros + Customer Service, Great Selection of Designers

What do you get when you cross a stripper with a drag queen on Halloween Weekend, add in some fabulosity (yep, I am referencing that Kimora Lee Simmons book) and sprinkling of some random hilarity and…

I love this store. I love the shoes, the clothing, and the accessories. They have a unique variety. This store starts the trend. The styles they carry are from avante garde to classic. I love the boy beater tank tops they sell. I wear them all the time. Anytime I need a dress for a fancy occasion, I go here because they have so many that are unique. They have a big selection of jeans also. They are a little pricey but I love the fact that you don’t see there products everywhere.
