This property upon arrival has some attractive “northern lodge” decor. There is a striking outdoor gas fireplace by the entrance. Check-in was handled well and we were escorted to our “cityside” rooms. (As we were going on a cruise we did not see fit to pay double for “water view” rooms. I had the biggest smile on when I walked into my room at the Alexis. It was sooo adorable. Like something out of a doll-house. A really cool, funky, doll-house! Oversized headboards and couches with lots of colorful funky pillows. And the art that is hanging on all the walls and corredors–so cool! It’s like visiting an art gallery for free! The location was pretty good, walking distance to the market, etc. Price was fair too..only complaint is I got in really late, was hungry and wanted room service. But their late-night menu was not very appealing at all. They need to add more options. Other than that…I wish I lived at the Alexis… Pros + Amazing contemporary art on the wallsCons – Room-service menu is lacking in options
