Where is the Best Boutique Hotel in Detroit, Michigan?

The staff were rude and unwilling to accomodate us when there was a problem with our room. At 2 a.m. we finally convinced them to switch us to another room, but the only one they had available was a suite. We later find out that they charged us for the suite. This is a bad business practice and I advise all to avoid this hotel.

This hotel is ok. Nothing exceptional and it has more negatives than positives. I don’t know how it ended up on the 2008 Best Detroit Hotel Pools lists because it doesn’t even have a pool. Parking is forced valet, no alternative, but for safety’s sake, it’s probably a good idea. Don’t stay here if you are a walker, unless you want to go one of about 4 restaurants within walking distance.

This was a bit of a shot in the dark but a very nice result. online travel website did not mention the various room options available so I arrange an upgrade upon arrival. The neighborhood is in a revitalization mode and may not give a good first impression but the area is safe and the Inn is very cozy and the restoration has been marvelous. Staff is friendly and very accomodating. Shuttle service was great. The main library, art museum, and the historical museum were my old hangouts as a teen so it was fun being near them again. Trip was for the Cass Tech 100th year celebration so I hope to find another reason to return.
