Where is the Best Bookstore in Portland, Oregon?
Title Wave Used Books is a clearninghourse of books from the Multnomah County Library system that have been removed from circulation for a variety of reasons. Some are in great shape, others not as great shape but they are all at bargain prices.There are all kinds of books here, as well as video and audio materials, magazines, etc. The children’s selection is actually quite good and we have picked up several books from there.The only thing I don’t like is that the books are sometimes pretty raggedy and nearly all have the barcodes and property of stamps on them. I’m a little picky about my books so I’m not wild about how these look, and I also don’t want to get them confused with our regular library books if I’m not paying close enough attention.In spite of this little inconvenience though, it’s a great place to browse, spend some time and get some new-to-you books at some great prices. Since it opened in about 1997 – Wallce Books has captured my heart and imagination. I have referred many readers and book store aficianados over the years who thank me repeatedly! Julie Wallace and her team are enthusiastic, in the know about the latest, and willing to go the extra mile to compile book lists, research gifts for a certain age or interest group, etc. I even ordered many of my graduate school titles through them. They are the best independent bookseller i know.
