Where is the Best Bookstore in Nashville, Tennessee?
Book Attic is solid in decorative arts, gardening, interior design and other home arts books. They have decent (but not stellar) fiction sections and ok theology. The children’s picture book section is one of the strongest in town – they regularly have sought after classics at reasonable prices. In basic terms, they know what they are doing. Staff tends not to be chatty or intrusive, which I like. This is a sedate and pleasant bookstore to browse through. Quibbles – sign on the door “When it snows we close.” says it all. They mean it – there were about four flakes on the ground and they shut down. Also, they most if not all paperbacks with a permanent ink stamp. I *hate* this practice – I think it shows a fundamental contempt for books. Finally, they want you to call ahead and ask if you want to sell books.Pros + Decent stock, moderate prices, clean and well orderedCons – Bookstamps in paperbacks, "When it snows we close."
Hastings is a great place to find what your looking for. In particular the book section is admirable. The music selection is nice as well. Through you may not find lesser known artist there. The games and movies are ok, but if you come there more than then once, they might not have everything your looking for. All of this said, they are a marvelous place to shop, and when was the last time you found a store named after a battle?Pros + Lots of parking, Good book selection, Polite customer service. Plenty of music.Cons – Average gaming section.
