Tried to visit store after stumbling on this website for its address on 4/13/2010. Unfortunately, it looks like the store has gone out of business (?) I tried calling the phone number also listed on this site and got a “The number you have dialed has been disconnected” or is no longer in service.Cons – Does not exist anymore

I have been going to Dead Poet Books since they were used to be located at Sahara and Valley View, and with the move to Rainbow, the selection has gotten even better. The staff was always friendly and helpful every time I visited, and the selection of books was always wide and varied. With the closure of Albion Books, this is one of the best remaining locations in town to find that book you wanted, along with LPs and other esoteric items.Pros + Large selection, helpful staffCons – Some items not available (such as Heinlein)

located in mandalay place, the reading room serves as a refreshing refuge from the chaos of the strip. the store features a well-edited selection of bestsellers and literary gems – everything from poolside reads to the latest man booker prize-winner. i also noticed a decent sized periodical selection, with a few u.k. and business newspapers. the staff is very friendly, helpful and wonderfully eccentric. they even display mini reviews tucked underneath books, just like a neighborhood bookstore in “real” cities. and most surprising, they have a respectible collection of first edition and rare books for sale in their locked case. the last time i was there, they had a helmut newton sumo book and some first edition steinbecks. and this is all packed into a shoebox of a space, it’s literally the size of one section in the average barnes and noble. I stop by every time i’m in town.Pros + jam-packed, atmosphere, great staffCons – tiny
