Where is the Best Blues Club in San Francisco, California?
This review will be short and sweet. They have a full calendar of wonderful entertainers. I went last year to see Ashford & Simpson and was so in love with the spot and quality of the show I went a second night. Food and drink quality was good for SF. The hosts were friendly and great to talk to.Pros + intimate spaceCons – tickets sell quick for popular events
I only live a couple block away. It’s a cool bar with a few good happy hour deals. The atmosphere is what you think a “bar” should be (if only you could smoke inside). Be warned though, if you’re just looking for a cool place to hang out and drink – this may or may not be for you. Since there is a band most every night, you will have to pay a cover to be there (regardless of how long you’ve already been there).Pros + great atmosphere, drink specials
The food is average, watch the clams, their not cleaned well. The only real problem with this restaurant is the service. Part of the problem is an automatic 16 percent gratuity added to orders of $50. and above. I normally tip between 20-25%. I did not leave any extra for this waitress, she was very inattentive. Most of her time was spent at the door, gazing at the pedestrians. Why would she do anything else? She gets tipped, good or bad. The blues music updtairs sets a mood rarely found anywhere else. There’s a good mix of locals and tourist’s. You know if the locals are there its good. If your looking for atmosphere…head upstairs for the live music. In their defense, there was another waitress that came to our rescue, I put a tip in her hand, not left at the table for the gazing gal.
Ok, we had heard about this guy back in the day…. and here he was playing at B&B ~ awesome night, the man can seriously play that guitar!!! And what a voice… I would listen to him alllllllll nighttttttt loooooooooooonnnnnnnnng! Plus he has an unsually great on stage sense of humor. We lucked into an up close and personal guitar solo. Hope we get to hear more of him there as that was a perfect, intimate venue. And hey, whomever wrote that last review… our drinks AND food were served right on time. Pros + Intimate venue and a good dance floorCons – Can’t think of one negative
