I’ve been a Char’s patron since before we were legal to be in there (many years ago, previous owners). It has always been a lively place with a diverse crowd of aging black hep-cats, college students,…

The outside at Pat’s looks bad. The inside is another story. In this neighborhood finding a clean, respectful place to just hang out is hard. The Murph has live blues music most of the time, and it is always fun to meet the regulars who look out for each other and new people as well. All the bartenders are neat to talk to, and are great about getting the drinks out quickly. Scot seems almost psychic when your drink needs a refill. The best part of Pat’s is that women can just be social without having to be harassed. The pub has a policy of no harassment. The drinks are always cold, even if it’s a little warm inside. You should come by if you’re looking for a fun place with no pretentiousness. Pros + Good service, fun people, relaxed atmosphereCons – one stall bathroom, sometimes too warm, sometimes too loud music

I’ve been to the Rhythm Room lots of times, and every time is a good time there. I’m a blues and jazz fan and a guitar player, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen lots of my favorites there….
