Where is the Best Blues Club in Atlanta, Georgia?
“Good barbeque” is a subjective concept, of course, but, for me, Maddy?s has the right idea. Reasonable prices. The barbeque itself is neither too dry, nor too soupy, and the sauce is savory with more heat than sweet. I?m a creature of habit with barbeque, so I haven’t tried a lot of their menu, but I can highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich. (If you aren’t a pork fan, they do a chicken version that is quite nice too.) If you like garlic, you can?t miss the potato salad, which is a garlic-y delight. I also pony up the 25 cents for extra sauce, as I?ve discovered that dipping a bit of potato salad in it just takes it to a whole ‘nother level. The killer beer specials, free soda refills, and hip and friendly staff are the icing on the Maddy’s cake. One or two caveats, (but nothing that should prevent you patronizing this fine establishment). Parking is really really bad. The lot is small, and seems to have suffered earthquake damage. The dining area is intimate and they have live

I decided to give Daddy D’z a shot for a late lunch today. I hadn’t eaten since the night prior, and it was about 4pm, so I was relatively hungry.I ordered a half slab of ribs, with two sides (mac and cheese as well as corn), and a chopped pork sandwich. The chopped pork sandwich was good, and if you like Georgia-style BBQ, you’ll like the sauce as well. I got the hot varient, but they also offered a mild. The sandwich wasn’t terrific due to the bun, it was just a generic run of the mill cold bun.The ribs were delicious, although I did have two that were tough (seemed like they’d been smoking a bit too long.) I’m not much on Georgia-style sauces, but if you are – I’m sure you’ll love them. They were tolerable to me, and that’s better than 95% of the other sauces I’ve had around here. :)All in all, I rate it fairly middle of the road – not due to my personal differences in terms of BBQ styles, but because of the averageness of the food. I’d actually prefer to rate it between aver
A very trendy looking place this motel was still warm and inviting. Helpful staff and very nice rooms without the boring and ordinary decor that one expects. My only complaint was that the room did not have the typical binder of info that I love flip through upon my arrival. Will stay here again for sure, and next time will check out the restaurant that looked very happening, especially for a Tuesday night.
I’m not the kind of person who likes to go any place where people actually pay attention to what other people are wearing, what they’re doing, etc. (like it matters?). I love this place because as long as you’re not bothering anyone else, no one’s going to pay attention to what you’re doing. Everyone is there to listen to music and have a great time. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays are my favorite for free music. Fridays and Saturdays usually host great bands and musicians (blues, of course). I always take my out-of-town friends here when they come to visit….and they immediately see what makes it such a great place. Even if you’re not a huge fan of the blues, or don’t know much about it, you may quickly find yourself a fan after visiting the Northside Tavern.Pros + cheap/average prices, raw atmosphere, diverse crowd (white collar to college age hipster)Cons – difficult to find free parking on Fri & Sat
