Where is the Best Bloody Mary in Orange County, California?
This is by far the best “lounge” in San Clemente. The bartenders and doormen are always a pleasure, even when they hose you down with water! This bar attracts an assortment of people- locals, marines, whoever. This is a great place to hang with your buddies, or meet a one night stand who is actually good looking-worth the visit.
A friendly, mostly locals bar with good drinks in a beautiful location within spitting distance of water, what else could you ask for? Turk’s stands out with its copper bartop, overhead aquariums, and floor-to-ceiling photographs of the late owner and Hollywood strongman actor Harry “Turk” Varteresian (who also ran a restaurant in Sunset Beach that he sold and eventually became Turc’s bar). He passed on a few years back and his daughter now runs the place much the same as her father.The burgers are fantastic; as are the homemade soups (I like the clam chowder). A great place for a weekend breakfast/lunch or an evening drink and dinner. I like this place is has a dive-y atmoshpere which is nice because so many places around OC are sparkling new and lack style … the bands I’ve seen have been entertaining and talented … the drinks are cheap and the parking is ample … the staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean … there are several great restaurants in the same complex and even a huka bar … come early and make a fun night of it!
