Wow……we came in for a drink on what we expected to be a quiet Wednesday night and were completely blown away…Service was awesome, the bartender-or should I say mixologist-was super engaging and incredibly knowledgable. From the time we walked in we felt right at home, the staff seems genuinely excited about what they’re doing at IFS: short but deep craft beer list, A-Z wine list with a lot of interesting and affordable choices, and AMAZING cocktails…all of the spirits are artisanal and the drinks are way cool! I had a really good bourbon drink called the Deshler and my date had the Moscow Mule…both were dee-lish! Jason (our Aussie barman) turned us on to their dayboat scallops, which then led to another round and a little dessert. The manager was really accomodating and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time in, and took the time to make us samples of a crazy Absinthe cocktail called the Corpse Reviver that was actually really good. I will be back

Definitely worth the wait, which can be quite lengthy if you arrive during peak hours. Free coffee while you wait, though. The menu is huge and has a wide variety of options. I appreciate that they try to use local and organic foods as often as possible.

This place was highly recommended to me, but I’m not sure why. The food was decent; I had a sloppy joe for old times sake and it was fine but not particularly great. Our server was good though.

Nestled along the Metra Railroad Tracks is Lavery’s Pub. It’s a cozy dining establishment with a terrific menu. I’ve been there many times and have never, ever been disappointed with either the food or service. While waiting for my friends, I’ve sat at the bar and the service was friendly. When my friends and I have something to celebrate, we always meet at Lavery’s. No need to go anywhere else! Quiet enough to carry on a conversation! Cobbini Salad is Delicious!Pros + Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Friendly StaffCons – can be hard to find, crowded at times

Extensive menu revision has occurred. Extensive staff changes have happened. Big remodeling happened. Everything is more expensive now, but the best thing on the menu is the seared tuna sandwich! The new menu includes a change in the greens used for the salads and that’s a big improvement. As ever, there is too much red meat on the menu. The prices have gone up so much that we go in only about once a month for the seared tuna sandwich & a brew. Before we were there about once a week. The changes in the waitstaff, and the busing people are obvious & the management needs to more carefully attend to training the personnel.
