The food was very authentic but our server was slower than molasses. We were visiting Las Vegas for the weekend and decided to drive to LA just to try this restaurant. I was satisfied until I saw that the server maybe came by one time without having us flag her down. Every time we needed a water refill or requested another soda we had to flag her down. You would think that when it came time to pay the bill, she would have been “Johnny on the spot”, nope. My husband had to get the bill and take it to her and stand there to ensure that she ran the credit card. I think this establishment needs to hire another type of staff; I noticed that other diners experienced the same type of service. I understand hiring individuals from the neighborhood to ensure jobs in the community but please make sure you hire the right individual. I will definitely return when I go back to Vegas this year but hopefully some staff changes have been made and I don’t experience the same type of slow servi

Never felt compelled to leave a review here before but Robin’s BBQ earned it. This place really brought back childhood memories of growing up in Mississippi and eating barbeque on Friday nights after a trip to the local bowling alley. A friend recommended it from an Elmer Dills television review a couple years ago and we finally dropped in. The place is decked out like walking into a time warp from the 50’s or 60’s. Old beer neons from 40 years ago, highway signs etc and the music was vintage 60’s. Peanuts on the tabel and shells on the floor. Just like back at home. We split the garbage can combo and still took home leftovers. Stand outs were the beef ribs, tri tip and sausage. Well seasoned and smoked, really good stuff. The corn was charred just right, the blue cheese coleslaw was different but great and the blueberry cornbread was sublime. Our server Sergio was professional, fast and not real talkative, just efficient. we even met the owner Robin himself while he was asking if we n

I know, I know – Chicken & waffles on a plate – together?? YES! This Hollywood eatery seats only about 50 people and any weekend will find a line outside the door – don’t EVEN try to go after after 12 noon on a Sunday when the after church crowd arrives! Celebrities frequent this spot – including Magic Johnson & Jessica Simpson / Nick Lachey. This is authentic soulfood – not overly done, inexpensive and with enough variety that on any visit you’ll find MANY ethnicities enjoying the food. My favorite – and the dish I suggest for newbies – is the #13 – or the Anna C special – one lucious fried chicken breast with one specially seasoned waffle. For those of you who prefer dark meat, you can get that too. There are options for gravey or giblets. Order greens on the side or french fries. They have it all! If you are visiting the area – it’s worth a visit to the spot that is even talked about in movies & TV shows! Drive by Pinks hot dogs and forget trying to get in to one of the f

Been meaning to try Annapurna for months now, being that it’s only a few blocks from our house and everyone says it’s so good, and finally decided to go last night. We got there a little after 5:00 and were given a large booth perfect for the kids…and good thing we got there early because the restaurant filled up quickly while we ate. I’m very familiar with Indian cuisine, but even so, the menu was a matrix of things I’ve never heard of before and was thus a bit overwhelming especially having to order kid friendly food. Not to worry though, the host was extremely friendly and helpful and made several “kid-friendly” recommendations along with a couple of spicier dishes that my wife and I could enjoy. It was all really really good. We had samosas, vegetable cutlets, idly (steamed rice lentil cake, dosas (huge cone shaped crepes with phenomenal side sauces), Dal and a mushroom curry…and mopped it all up with some fantastic butter and garlic nan. For dessert, we had Gulab Jamoo
