Where is the Best Big Portions, Small Price Spot in Atlanta, Georgia?
I decided to give Daddy D’z a shot for a late lunch today. I hadn’t eaten since the night prior, and it was about 4pm, so I was relatively hungry.I ordered a half slab of ribs, with two sides (mac and cheese as well as corn), and a chopped pork sandwich. The chopped pork sandwich was good, and if you like Georgia-style BBQ, you’ll like the sauce as well. I got the hot varient, but they also offered a mild. The sandwich wasn’t terrific due to the bun, it was just a generic run of the mill cold bun.The ribs were delicious, although I did have two that were tough (seemed like they’d been smoking a bit too long.) I’m not much on Georgia-style sauces, but if you are – I’m sure you’ll love them. They were tolerable to me, and that’s better than 95% of the other sauces I’ve had around here. :)All in all, I rate it fairly middle of the road – not due to my personal differences in terms of BBQ styles, but because of the averageness of the food. I’d actually prefer to rate it between aver
It is a nice drive to Social Circle from most parts of Atlanta, but you will find it is well worth the trip. Social Circle is a quaint little Rural Town that is a throwback to earlier times. The Blue Willow Inn is a PERFECT example og going back to a slower easier time. The White Columns and the anti-bellium features take you back to the old south and a rural farm home! The food lives up to the expectations that are set by the decor. While waiting to be seated you are greeted by young ladies in Hoop Skirts serving lemonade! What a TREAT… The buffet and the different seating rooms are as diverse as the clientele! The fried chicken and the macaroni and cheese are as good as any you will find anywhere in the South. I can only remember my Mom’s as being as GOOD! Eat until you can’t move but PLEASE leave some room for the Paenut Butter Pie! We always try to sit in the Lewis Grizzard Room and enjoy the view of the old swimming pool (now a fountain) and take a few minutes to stroll amon
After years of what seemed like obnoxious hyperbole, I finally went to Nuevo myself to check out the food. I would say that this place is simply great. Is it worth waiting more then 30-40 mins for this food? Nah…most places aren’t, but…they have a bar…so why complain?Food:Salsa–it’s great.Burritos are fantastic and HUGE and a lot like taqueria burritos–nor your boring combo #7 burrito like you get at Laredo’s. But…these nice burritos do indeed come on the combo plates.Tacos–true taqueria style tacos–two corn tortillas, nice roasted pork or barbacoa (yes that’s right) with onions, cilantro and lime.Enchilada–very good sauce not too much cheese.Pico de gallo–dear god it’s spicy and it’s really good.Chile con queso–this cheese dip is enough for 4-5 and it’s spicy, very spicy and it’s great.Service–like a well oiled machine, these folks pump it out quickly and they do it well.If you dig Texmex places you’ll like Nuevo. If you like taquerias you’ll lik
Ann is not the nicest person but she keeps it real. The burger was a good old fashioned buger which we Geed these days. I would take her any day over McDonlad’s and Wendy’s. Ground chuck or beef nothing with steroids or soy meat. She makes it right in front of you.Pros + Quality meatCons – Wait time is ridiculous, no good parking, confusing order process
